Risking your own well-being, comfort and security to help someone, whether it would be a community or someone individually, is known and defined as a hero in today’s society. Anyone can be seen as a hero in present day’s society if they are willing to make sacrifices for others in which they are presented as caring and selfless. In Beowulf, the author portrays the warrior Beowulf and his three battles in such a way as to clearly define what it means to be a hero. Fred Robinson and J. R. R.
