Beowulf Compared To Modern Day Hero

Beowulf and modern day heroes share the same traits by doing good for the sake of good, having courage, and having supernatural powers. “ A prince of the Geats, had killed grendel”. (404) Through his battle with Grendel it truly showed the courage he had. Due to the fact that the monster reigned terror throughout the city. After 12 years; Beowulf was called to save the people. Throughout the series of Spider Man, Peter Parker plays a huge in protecting the city of New York, fight the bad guys trying to erase crime in the city. Though Spider Man had a different cause for his heroic doings. He still had that same motivation, courage, and leadership as Beowulf had. These the characters are similar because throughout each of their stories, they have to face several agonizing situations.
That shows the effect that beowulf's well being had done for those people. Beowulf never was arrogant about what he had done for them; he was always humble about his good deed. What makes him similar to the modern day hero Spider man because when he is fighting his crime against multiple bad guys not once has he ever boasted about his well-doing. Something that does separate the two from one another is that Beowulf was willing to die for what was right unlike spider man. Spider man was the type of hero that he will fight for what is right but at the end of the day he is not down for dying for anyone.
