About BMRCL :
Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (BMRCL) is a joint
venture between Govt. of India and Govt. of Karnataka
sharing the responsibility of implementation of Bangalore
Metro Rail Project. It is named as “Namma Metro”.
Phase I metro project started(Civil work) in June2007 .The
estimated cost of project is Rs 11609 Cr.
Namma Metro phase-I network consist of two corridors :
East-West and North –South.
Project highlights: Project Routes East-West Corridor (Purple Line): Baippanahalli station to Mysore road Terminal - 18.10 Kms
North-South Corridor (Green Line): Nagasandra station to
Puttenahalli - 24.20 KMS
Total KMS in Phase –I: 42.30 KMS
Elevated section - 33.48 KMS
Under Ground Section - 8.82 KMS

Reach and Routes:
For the implementation and execution of the project, four elevated stretches are called Reaches & are identified so for convenience purpose. Also there are two underground sections are connecting Reach -1 and Reach-2 in East-West Corridor and Reach-3 & Reach-4 in North-South Corridor respectively. Each Reach has been given to a contractor for execution of the project. The details of Reaches are as under.

BMRCL has distributed the works to select best contractors based on their expertise in execution of project 1) Building of Elevated structure.
2) Building railway station.
3) Rail tracking construction
4) Underground Tunnel construction.
Methods used for concreting:
1)Viaduct (Elevated structure): Basically using precast structure for segment, girders, pier cap etc. Each segment requires 20 cu.m. concrete and I- girder is required 17 cum. 2)Station building : Using precast and slab by concreting.
3)Under ground tunnel: Using precast for tunnel rings. Tunnel concreting by shotcrete. 4)Track laying : Concrete is required to make plinth construction and track bed construction inside tunnel.
All the above application require high grade concrete: M40,M50,M60

Pumps is around 70-80 % in this project.
BMRCL project of R-3A
structure for 5.1 KMS. Putzmeister Boom
pump model BSF 36.09 is being used for precasting and concreting piers & piers caps. Boom Pump details :

Pumping hrs : 1092 hrs
Concrete done : 45,000 Cu.m.
Concrete grade used : M40, M50
Almost done 1100 segments and 1000 nos.
I-Girders by using this machine.
Each segment will have 20 cum concrete and
each I-Girder will have 17 cum concrete.
