Benefits Of Study Hall
The course that should be added to our school is study hall. This would give students the chance to get their homework done at school, and not have to worry about it at night or forget it if they have a late away game. Students shouldn’t have to take so much homework home they should be given the chance to get it finished in school. Some students might work and they do not need to worry about coming home at 10:00 and doing 3 hours of homework. School’s tend to have some late out away games and students are worn out and they completely forget about their homework. Study hall gives the students a chance to get it all done, and not worry about it at night after these late games. SHS should be given the opportunity to have a great 45 minutes

High school classes might have seemed better in the past compared to college. You might feel more comfortable in smaller classes than you would heading off to university, but that is simply from the comfort of your surroundings. You are familiar with your teachers and your closest friends are always by your side. This might create a friendlier environment, but branching away from the only things you have ever known will help you grow as an individual. Leaving home to start your life as an adult can be tough; however, learning every day responsibilities and making new relationships are two things that will benefit anyone who is getting ready to enter the “real world.” Students benefit more from college classes over high school classes because they learn responsibilities and create new relationships which help them to gain independence.…

Rauch states that Often times some students don't do any homework at all. Tom Loveless, the director of the Brown center, suggest that if the students that did no homework at night did just one hour their grades would greatly improve. Even though educational reform is a big issue more homework as a solution to the problem is overlooked “It seems peculiar that in a country that chatters obsessively about it educational shortcomings the word 'homework' goes all but unspoken”.…

Some people say that homework is helpful for subject enhancement in students, however others may say homework is not very helpful and instead is a stressor for students. As a result, there is much debate on the topic of homework. Here at Culver City Middle School, there isn’t a homework policy, which leads to either too little homework or too much homework. This is a real problem since students are trying to advance and understand subjects. A new policy, should be created where there is need for meaningful homework as it will benefit many students in several ways.…

Instead, they are either playing video games or going on their phone. With a raised grade point average it should not be a problem is students are on their phones or not because they are already getting their homework done if they are able to get a 3.5 GPA. Another school offering a study hall with a 3.5 GPA or higher is Kaukauna High School(Kaukauna). In my own experience, I am a person who goes on my phone during study hall, but I find it helpful for myself to do my homework at home with limited distractions. Something I do not agree with the teachers on is where the study hall should take place because they all think it should be in an enclosed environment, but I have worked hard to be able to have my freedom and alone time from teachers in the cafeteria. One compromise could be a study hall called high honors study hall. Students involved in this are the 4.0 or higher students. These students could be able to roam the hall and go to the cafeteria during their free period(HS Study…

First of all, students should be allowed to have a study hall because they will have more time to complete homework. According to Mona Wang, Jenna Troccoli, and Sophie Lyle, a majority of the 17 million high school and junior high students would agree that they want to relax in the afternoon and not spend the day finishing an assignment due the next day. Most students have extracurricular activities after school such as sports, clubs, and activities which need them to stay up later in the night. Having the students stay up, causes them to get less…

This would lead to better grades. In a study conducted by the University of Notre Dame, 71% of students strongly agreed that study hall helped their performance (Gessel). If students did their homework in study hall, they could potentially get help from their peers, which is shown to be one of the effective methods for students to learn. Peer review/study sessions are very beneficial to student learning. Students need a break because constant work throughout the day limits engagement and makes it harder to concentrate by the end of the day.…

Do you get enough sleep at night? Or do you not get enough because you stayed up all night doing homework? A challenge that students face each day is having to do all the homework they have and getting enough sleep. Students can overcome this challenge by going to the School Board Office and stating this problem, paying more attention in class to finish some of it in class, and trying to keep and follow a schedule so they can do homework and sleep on time. We have to do this if we want our children to be healthy.…

Having segues would be awesome to have. It would help us get to our classes on time and not be late. Moving sidewalks would also be a big help to the school. Instead of walking to class, you can take a ride to class. Go-karts would make it even faster to get to class. Think of how much time we can have in class if we get there. This is a big deal for the school to have transportation inside.…

To begin, with more time in class students have much more time in class to ask questions. In class with only having 49 minutes teachers do not have enough time in class to get through everything they need to and still answer students questions. Asking questions is a important part in the learning process and is one of the key ways to learn. Therefore a 6 hour block will improve learning. Also, a 6 hour block will improve students grades. EJMHS students do not have the best grades. In fact this year on the NWEA testing there was almost a 20 point difference in understanding reading, and reading. This is a big issue. Students need more time in class to learn more. They do not have enough time in class to learn as much as they can and sometimes they are quizzed on subjectsthey haven't learned enough of. If students are able to have more time in class students will be able to take more in during class and be able to keep up. It is also hard to keep up at the pace that some of the teachers are going at now. Sometimes students end up just writing down the shorthand of what the teacher says and they don't ask questions on what they are confused on. Students need to be able to ask questions, if teachers are going 100 miles per hour in class the students are more focused on writing down what the…

According to Ripley, students are starting school too early to save afternoon daytime for practice.Students will be tired after school because they have to wake up really early in the morning and then go to school. After that they have to do practice for sports. Then they have to go home and do homework. Students won’t have any time to spend time with their family like their sisters or brothers (10). Students will spend more time with their families if kids have sports on the weekends and not after school (10). If there were no after school sports, students will be able to spend time with their family. This is important because this shows that kids will spend time with their siblings instead of being really tired after school. Now that you know this will be important for students to quit after school because they will have little to no time to play or hang out with their…
