In recent years many people have become more and more aware of the need for physical fitness. Almost everywhere people look there is information about improving health. Although the people who are eager to sell vitamins and natural foods commercially drive many of these suggestions, some of them, especially the information supporting a consistent exercise program, deserve attention. A program that consists of at least thirty minutes of exercise three times a week provides many benefits. Regular exercise releases tension/stress, improves appearance, and increases stamina. The first of these benefits is the release of tension. This benefit occurs immediately. Tension builds in the body because of a buildup of adrenaline produced by stress, anxiety, or fear. Many doctors agree that participating in an active sport such as tennis or volleyball for thirty minutes releases tension. If a person swims, jogs or rides a bicycle, he/she will sleep better and have a better temperament the next day. Also, after the relief of tension, common disturbances should be less troubling. An example is, an employee gets upset at work, gets stuck in traffic on the way home, argues with their family, and eats excessively. He/She could simply take about thirty minutes to release frustrations through physical exercise. This could help him/her to prevent a buildup of tension/stress. Planned physical exercise can reduce, or at least control, tension/stress. The second benefit of regular exercise is an improved appearance. This benefit does not occur as instantaneously. Exercise takes about a month or longer to show results in the form of a thinner, firmer figure. For example, a person that is over weight about 10 pounds will most likely be able to get rid of excess fat and tighten muscles in this amount of time. Clothes fit better and more comfortably when a person has even posture. This can be
