Benefits Of Persevering
Persevering can help people a lot when they lack the motivation to do something or don’t think they are capable of it. It can tough and demanding at times, but most people find out that they succeed when they persevere. Most famous people don’t get famous easily, they had to go under a tremendous amount of hard work and kept on going. Other people saved their own life just because they persevered. In most cases, people will need to persevere to succeed and gain other benefits.
Succeeding is the best you will get from persevering, but it doesn’t come that easily! In this story Rogue Wave by Theodore Taylor, Scoot and Sully were on the Sea Dog on the Pacific Ocean near Baja California. Suddenly, they get hit by a rogue wave and Scoot happens

As we talked about Rogue wave, Scoot succeeded her escape, but also, when she persevered, she benefited in many other ways too. One way was, as she was working her way to escape, she remembered that she had once seen a toolbox under the companionway steps which saved her a lot of time because time was burning and she was too weak to open the highlight. It says on page 13, line 345-347, “Scoot had seen a toolbox under the companionway steps and went back to try to find it. She guessed there’d be wrenches inside it, unless they’d spilled out.” As we also talked about What It Takes to be Great, Bobby Fischer succeeded by becoming a chess grandmaster with 9 years of intensive work. In that essay, Tiger Woods started golfing at an extremely early age, 18 months and that made him persevere as he was growing up. He benefited from it because it encouraged him to practice intensively which made him practice for 15 years, becoming the youngest-ever winner of the U.S Amateur Championship at the age of 18. It says on page 9, paragraph 18, “Tiger Woods is a perfect example of what the research shows. Because his father introduced him to golf at an extremely early age—18months—and encouraged him to practice intensively.” It’s crazy how Tiger was introduced to golf at the age of 18 months and how he benefited from it.
As you read how these people took advantage of perseverance, you can infer that if you persevere enough, you are likely to succeed and gain other benefits along with it too. Perseverance can be easy to obtain at first, but hard to manage later on and that’s fine, as long as you don’t give up. One day, you will be able to succeed many benefits by persevering as some of these people

In the article, “The Winning Edge,” the author, Peter Doskoch, explains the reasons to persevere. When you start something, don’t stop until you reach success. Thomas Edison said, “Many of life’s failures are people who did not realize how close they were to success when they gave up.” (Doskoch, Pg. 161, Paragraph 3). Being successful doesn’t pay off if it’s easy. Some will give up because “it’s too hard.” Isn’t that where the joy of success comes from? If it’s easy, it’s not worth it. You also have to realize that nobody is perfect, no matter how hard they try to be. “The Winning Edge,” tells us how there is always more room for improvement. We are all human, and it is natural for us to make a couple mistakes here and there. The important thing is that we learn from our mistakes. Another point that “The Winning Edge” points out is that we should all learn to like what we do. When we make a crappy mistake and take a wrong turn in our lives, make the most out of it. Doskoch mentions that “Perseverance...can itself foster…

Perseverance is one of the main skill I have gained through my participation in Squaw Valley Snow Sports. Ski racing, as a whole, is filled with high and low moments, and I believe without the low moments one wouldn't appreciate the glorious highs. I apply this perspective throughout my whole life and use it to motivate myself to be a better student, athlete, and whole person. I am currently recovering from ACL surgery, and I am fairly positive that without SVSS I wouldnt not be as dedicated to returning to snow as strong as possible.…

Hard work and perseverance is something a number of people are taught at a young age. Suzanne Lucas, a woman who spent 10 years in corporate human resources, has this to say about working hard, “Some people pat themselves on the back when they do as little work as possible. While this provides temporary fun, it won’t help towards real success.” No matter what someone’s job is, if they put in their hardest work…

Some people argue that perseverance does not make you successful but you won't go anywhere without it. They say it's just pursuing a higher goal with failure like setbacks. Others say it's a mindset developing an ability to deal with setbacks. They're not wrong in any sense at all, and they are logical, because if they can pursue a high goal they will get set backs along the way. But what happens if they hit a dead end, they hit a fork in the road then what? How would they get through it? They fight through it, and a good example of this is Jimmy Butler.…

The magic of hard work and perseverance cannot be underestimated. We see in general that people who have succeeded in life have done an immense amount of hard work and their success is we all see, but the effort put in, we fail to measure. We do wonder how he could achieve so much, but it is absolutely certain that achievement has come his way after much of continued effort. Most of us do make efforts but, soon lose heart and leave our projects and this is why we fail to reach the pinnacle of success. It must be clear in our minds that, we never can achieve with just a simple raising of a finger, we have got to put our heart and soul in a particular job and that also with continued vigour in every attempt then only we can hope for any success. Those of us who leave effort midway are obviously left midway by success also, and then we are disheartened and broke, just to ogle jealously at those who have succeeded. If we have the confidence in our effort, there is nothing that can deter us from…
