Being a Woman

“Nobody objects to a woman being a good writer or sculptor or geneticist if at the same time she manages to be a good wife, good mother, good looking, good tempered, well groomed and unaggressive”

Being a woman wasn’t trouble-free; there are a lot of circumstances that you have to deal with. Also, there are a lot of phases in life which may undoubtedly shape one’s personality. As an interview formulated with my mom, many of her experiences were revealed. Some are blissful, some are not. According to her, being a woman is a lifetime search of your whole totality; it isn’t something that you can acquire easily. “A girl initiates to womanhood when she learn how to value things around her; when she also learn to FALL IN LOVE.” It is really inevitably to admit that being a woman implicates weakness; hence it’s a requirement to prove something which can boost every intuition. Life as a woman was really hard for in this earthly world, prejudice was really evident. As she married someone…another phase of her life was untangled, her world became broader as she was not only a woman of herself but also another piece of someone’s being. At first everything was a little bit simple but as time flew away impediment took into the picture and it makes her grasped that being a wife was also a tough duty to accomplish but when she thinks of another character, being a mother…all her burden was lessen. My mom added that “nakakapagod maging asawa, pero kahit kailan hindi ako napagod maging ina.” That line really touches my heart. Life wasn’t easy for her and last year was considered as the darkest instance when he chose to separate to her family just to find herself again…reconstruct every little piece of her. If things didn’t work for her as a wife, being a mother is enough to sustain her entirety as a woman.
