Everything I told him was confidential it never got brought up again. It was a good experience in treatment even though I am in Drug Court I think it never would have work out if I never went to rehab. I was mad and did not want to go but it did me a lot of good deeds to those tools from treatment within the rehabilitation center and use them in the real world today. I also needed Drug Court because I was running the streets did not have time for my family, nor my kids. Now I have all the time in the world when I am not working to provide for my kids and loving every minute I do have. My whole life has changed since I came into Drug Court it put me back where I needed to be in life, because I could not do it by myself. I also learned how to control my anger. That was another big issue in my life I could not control until I went to rehab. If someone would speak or raise their voice in a certain way I would not know how to control my attitude, now I do. In Nic Sheff's appalling memoir, "Tweak", he takes you through his many attempts at recovery, and the mental and physical hardships he endured. The first time he got drunk was at age 11, and in the years that followed his life swirled out of control as his addiction to methamphetamines (along with cocaine and heroin) became more demanding. What I thought really differentiated his memoir from others about addiction was the courage he had to try again, after so many failed attempts at getting sober. From prostituting himself to stealing from the people he loved, Nic not only had to fight the rest of the world, but his own demons as well.…

They sat down and the waiter came around with red wine and poured both of them a glass. The first drink gave her self-confidence which she had been searching for, for a long time. Before the waiter finished pouring the other table wine Jodie was already done with her first glass. Once the waiter came back around he poured her another glass which she quickly drank. Issues pertaining to the availability of resources were also a concern amongst drug court participants. They were grateful for the resources available through their drug court program but believed there could be more services and other support systems (Farole & Cissner, 2005; Goldkamp et al., 2001). Though I have not experienced my own addictions I have been directly affected by those of my close friend Jason. In the time since junior high until now I have had an amazing friend in my life named Jason, I met him through mutual friends in 9th grade. Our friendship grew stronger over time and eventually he sat me down to explain that he was addicted to both alcohol and cocaine. As I was being told every detail of what he had been going through for the passed year of his life all I could think was how it was now my job to find help for him. From this point on I became very devoted to finding him help and trying to support him. Often times I had to distance myself from the situation because his changes in personality became to hard to focus on my own life. At many point in the stages of rehab Jason was in he changed drastically from being the person I knew to a very angry and bitter person. Grief was a feeling I found myself feeling a lot during his time in rehab, the quote from ‘The…
