This FS/IRAP was prepared for submittal to the California Regional Water Quality Control Board (RWQCB), Santa Ana Region in accordance with the “Summary of April 13, 2010 Meeting” letter submitted to the RWQCB on April 23, 2010, which was subsequently approved in an email dated April 26, 2010 from Nick Amini, Ph.D., P.E., the current RWQCB case officer for the

    After her tour of the facilities, she’s presented with three water-filled glass containers and challenged to assign each container to a selection of choices: tap water, traditionally treated wastewater, and purified sewage water. This test is obviously to prove the quality of the facility’s purification process because the purified sewage water is aesthetically the cleanest and purist. After this demonstration, Heffernan was immediately engaged and supportive of the San Diego AWPF’s mission and project. She also explains that because of the reoccurring droughts, many residents of California are starting to favor the idea of reusing sewage water, with the stipulation that all purified sewage water be released into reservoirs before use, a process known as indirect potable reuse. The San Diego Public Utilities Department also recommends this procedure but suggested an extra step. Known as direct potable reuse, this method would intensify the purification process and skip the reservoir, sending it straight to the tap.     Background: According to the Millennium Development Goals Report 2012, 783 million people, or 11 per cent of the global population, remain without access to an improved source of drinking water. Also the United Nations has long been addressing the global crisis caused by insufficient water supply to satisfy basic human needs and growing demands on the world’s water resources to meet human, commercial and agricultural needs (un.org). In this experiment water quality and contamination of groundwater was investigated. First, I observed the effects that many pollutants have on groundwater. I predict that in this experiment the oil and vinegar will create the large amount of contamination in the water, while the laundry detergent will just create an aroma smell to it. Considering the smells and color to these ingredients I think that it will cause the water quality to have a bad smell and cause the water to be very cloudy. Once filtering the contaminated water, the water will be clear and purified. Second, I will experiment water treatment and filtering. I predict that once the contaminated water is treated and filtered that it will leave me with less contamination or none at all. Then for the last experiment, I will determine the difference between bottled water and tap water to discover any contamination. I predict that the tap water will be the most contaminated and with the most chemicals in it, while the bottled waters; Dasani and Fiji will be completely filtered and free of any chemicals.…

    Apple Inc. is a corporation that designs and manufactures computer hardware, software and other consumer electronic products. The company is known for the Macintosh personal computers, iTunes media applications and the iPod personal music players. Apple was founded in April 1976 by Steven Wozniak and Steve Jobs, both college dropouts. In 1976, Wozniak and Jobs created the Apple I computer which did not have a keyboard or power supply for a computer hobbyist club. Later that summer Wozniak started his development of the Apple II, which was designed to attract a broader market than the hobbyist clubs. The earliest Apple II used cassette tapes to read and store information, which were unreliable and slow. By 1978, Wozniak had introduced the Apple Disk II at the time was the only fastest and cheapest disk drive available for computers. The Disk II led to the development of software for the Apple II (Funding Universe, 2011). According to Funding Universe (2011), “The introduction of Apple II, with a user manual, at a consumer electronics show signaled that Apple was expanding beyond the hobbyist market to make its computers consumer items. By the end of 1978, Apple was one of the fastest growing companies in the United States, with its products carried by over 100 dealers” (Company Histories, para. 1-8). In December 1980, Apple went public, the company is traded on the NASDAQ exchange and the ticker symbol is AAPL (Common Stock). According to Funding Universe (2011), “The offering of 4.6 million shares at twenty-two dollars each sold out within minutes.
