Balanced Score Card Analysis
Balanced score card is one of the strategic instrument which emphasize on translating the vision of the company to the action. With the help of the balanced score card, the company is able to bridge the gap between the strategic objectives and the execution of the objectives. “The balanced score card complements the financial measures with operational measures on customer satisfaction, internal processes and the organization’s innovation and improvement activities that are the drivers of future financial performance” (Kalpan, Norton, 1991).

ADIDAS is one of the biggest sportswear company which is engaged in designing, developing, manufacturing and marketing wide range of athletic and sports products. The company markets its products under three main brands: ADIDAS, TaylorMade and Rebok. Being into a design company, the company needs to have a strong emphasis on innovation and development. Thus the company needs to focus on learning and growth perspective. To cope up on the learning and the growth perspective, the company devotes significant resources as well as attention to develop new product concepts, processes as well as production methods. In the year 2015, the company has spent $154.3 million on the research and development. The company follows open source perspective and follows decentralization. The learning and growth perspective is highly governed by the R&D activities of the company. With the decentralized approach, the company gives an open hand to its employees to innovate and initiate new ideas and innovations. The company has performed various innovations and had launched new products like Futurecraft 3D which has a 3D design and is customized to the cushioning need of the athletes. ADIDAS has sponsorship agreements for different sports events which helps in the growth of the business. It is associated with FIFA World cup, UEFA EURO, UEFA Champions League, NHL, Boston Marathon etc. It has a huge sports team as well like national federations of Germany, Spain, Argentina, Belgium etc.
By investing in innovation and research, the company is be able to attain competitive advantage. With the increasing technology the company should make a move to exploit the technology so as to improve upon its customer service and speed.
Financial Perspective:
Financial perspective is an important aspect of the organization as it helps in measuring economic consequences of the strategy. The company reported the revenue of 16915 million EUR for the fiscal year ending in 2015. The company has seen an increase of 16.4% in the revenues as compared to the previous year.
