As time passes one sees the changes that occurs within themselves such as interest and skills. Reflecting on my past made me realize that as a kid I have always loved to play soccer but the problem was that I wasn't the child prodigy like most of the kids were. I’ve been the kid that always felt like screwing up and felt useless. Although these events and experience I went through made me the person that I am today. I made a decision that even though I wasn't as good as the other kids, as long as I was doing something that I liked I didn't care. As soon as I was in middle school I joined the soccer team. In the beginning of the season I was still in the same situation as I was in. I didn't get to start in most of the games and I really don't remember having any strong moments during those times, but that still did not stop me from playing soccer during my high school years.
Towards the second year of high school during the winter months, where soccer was not in season an opportunity happened to me that made me a better soccer player. There was a group of kids over at Air Force base who would go to the indoor soccer field and just practice around. I was one of those guys and we would meet up and play around twice a week. Practicing with those guys made me good but not good enough. But one day when we were doing our regular practice one of the soccer players who plays for the Air Force team saw me asked me to show up and join one of their practice. So I did. After a couple of practice they decided to let me join their team. I asked the guy why he chose me to join with them, and his response was that I reminded of him back when he was younger. He told me that I had determination and love for this game and that I just needed to practice harder and more. Which is the reason why he had me join his team so that I could practice with them.
The Air force had four different team each branched off into job types. Like the team I played for was

The thing that helped me out the most was that I knew we had a new coach in the program so we all were starting new. The first day of practice he talked to us and we all got to become closer by talking about ourselves and why we are playing the game of soccer.…

When I was ten years old I tried out for my local travel soccer team. I did not expect to make it, but by some stroke of luck I did. I started playing and it was not what I was expecting. In the past I averaged a hat trick every game, but travel soccer was a lot different. I started playing defense, but that might be an overstatement, because I did not get a whole lot of minutes. I knew that if I wanted to play more I was going to have to put in more work outside of practice. I started practicing everyday switching from running, to foot skills, to agility training. I probably spent more time complaining about it and there were a few time that my parents had to push me to practice, but I knew that I had to put in the work.…

The purpose of using autoethnography was to investigate my feelings and emotions in the lead up and journey to senior leadership. I have used a narrative form of writing to attempt to instill validity to the reader as I lead up to a position of leadership and accountability for the education of children. As a researcher practitioner I have employed action research during periods of interventions as I employ a living theory approach looking for ways to improve my practice. At all times in this study whatever the method used, I have focused on the following three research questions to guide my study: -…

Of course I ended up playing those sports, but I wasn't happy because I wanted to play football and nothing else. The years went by and I still did not play a snap of football and it was already the fifth grade where most kids have already played for years. Finally on my last plea my parents let me play football in the sixth grade. I played football in a youth league called PAFA (Palatine Amatuer Football Association), This is where I was taught proper technique and how to play the game safe. Finally, I was done with youth football, next up the big stage, high school football. My Freshman year went by in a blink of an eye, then came sophomore year my time to shine, and one of my favorite times in life.…

Starting from the first practices with my local baseball team, I was worse than all the other kids. A dislike towards the sport added to the uphill battle of getting better. My desire to go back and play soccer kept on growing. Even with the failure I was experiencing playing baseball, I fought through the year like a soldier, attending every game and practice, with a goal to make dad happy.…

I am only a mere seventeen years old and although there are numerous past challenges which continue to surface as obstacles to this day, such as my knee surgery, there is a whole world of adulthood which I am entirely oblivious to that will undoubtedly provide me with issues as well. Being a teenager is difficult; I have the responsibilities of applying for colleges, finishing my schoolwork, slowly prying myself from beneath my parents' wing, and challenging medical obstacles. Because physical therapy (the community and the quote) has inspired me in immeasurable ways, I have learned to focus on my potential and my capabilities rather than my weaknesses in not only soccer, but also my schoolwork, music, and all other aspects of my…

After boosting myself up, I finally decided to try out. I was told we would have a new coach. I was a little scared that we wouldn’t have our old coach anymore. Also, when the team was mad a little after, our old coach came back just in time. Knowing that if we had a chance to get our old coach back was wonderful. Because nothing would be the same. Every sport and routines are different from the beginning to the end whole different start.…

Everyone on my team, including me, were 120% focused during our warm-up because we were versing a good Illinois team and their team’s name was Euro SC Select. This team had a lot of skilled and fast players that were definitely bigger than us. Most of the players on this team were very aggressive and physical too, so my team had to be very strong. There weren’t many times when my soccer games were really intense, but this game was very intense to watch and the parents were getting so nervous and anxious. It was a really close game and we ended up tying the game 0-0. Because of the tie in the championship game, we had to go into penalty kicks. My coach got to choose 5 people to kick from the penalty box and they have to try to make it in. My team was so scared to the point where we all held hands and we stayed very close to each other. In the end we were happy because we had made 3 out of 5 goals in and the other team only made 1 goal out of 5 shots! To phrase it better, my team won the tournament and we all lived happily ever…

I was 9 years old on a soccer team in a school called Brightwood. We have a soccer game every Thursday and Brightwood was going against a school called Truesdell. I was warming up for the game and our coach was giving a speech about our tactics for winning the game and not losing focus of the game. My coach said “today is not the day to be a star, but to play as one”. Most of the players weren't focused on my coach's speech. I heard what the coach had said, but I had my own plans, I felt excited l that this will be the game I can prove that I am a someone.…

I remember when I was five, I would always attend my step sister’s soccer games during the weekend while at my dad’s. I would always love to watch but I was more of a hands on person. I have always wanted to play soccer but unfortunately it was harder to do for a kid, like me, when I had divorced parents that lived 40 minutes away from each other. It was so hard because usually when it came to soccer, the games would be during the weekend and practices would be a few days during the week. Finally, after my sophomore year I decided to try again and play for my school.…

My soccer career started as soon as I could walk, but somehow I still wasn’t very good at it at the age of 13. You'd assume ten years of practice and a sister who'd been the mvp of her high school team would have rubbed off on me, but that wasn’t the case. That is to say, I wasn't absolutely pitiful. I was pretty quick, and I could get a good foot on the ball about four times out of ten.…

When I first started playing I didn't know much but now since I go to every practice and am fully dedicated I have improved greatly. Being in soccer makes me happy and keeps me active. Before every game I get nervous and very excited because I don't know what might happen. I have learned through soccer to never underestimate an opponent and to never give up. Even though the games are friendly and there is no award behind it, I give my all out on the field. This team has helped me improve my leadership qualities., If it wasn't for soccer I think I would've never learned so much, not only about soccer but about life itself my most rewarding moments was when my teammates elected me to be the leader of the team as known is the captain , at that moment I was incredibly happy and grateful for the people around me who helped me to achieve that goal.…

My first school soccer game of the regular season. I jumped onto the bus, excited and nervous about the game. On the ride to George I Sanchez, I was quiet, hoping everything would go well. We got to the school, and the team and i were marveled by it, it was huge, and it looked as if the school was rich. The doors were closed so i had to go through the gate, through the holes, or slide under. I went through the holes and entered and put my stuff down and went onto the field. I went to the goalie box, up to steps and dived to my right just to make sure that the lengths were okay. The refs told me to get off the field. Once off the field, some of the guys got…
