Australian Culture: Quote Analysis
The quote I have chosen is from the commission for the future report on Australian culture. The quote is “robbed of a broader meaning to our lives, we appear to have entered an era of mass obsession, usually with ourselves: our appearance, our health and fitness.”
This quote says that Australians have entered a place of gullibility and believe stuff to easily to gain reputation and social status. This is completely true, there is not one step without seeing someone on their phone or computer or just doing whatever is ‘trending.’
People being addicted to something is not that bad in could be for a good reason for example a study addiction or a religious addiction. Addictions have been always around some of them are good most bad: like drugs and alcohol they are bad because they can ruin your life. …show more content…
Addictions are not bad things they just vary on the quality of them. Common addictions include: drugs, alcohol, gambling and phone addictions: these are just some of the examples of bad addictions.
The perspective of Christians have on addictions are that they should not be let in to gods kingdom. In multiple sections of the bible it referenced people that are addicted to alcohol or “given to much wine” as “drunkards” (1 Timothy 3:3) or “heavy drinkers” (1 Timothy 3:8). People that are addicted to substances like alcohol and drugs are not allowed to run churches because they want people to lead by example. Another reference from the bible not allowing “drunkards” to go to heaven is in ‘1 Corinthians 6:10’ where it is said “drunkards . . . shall not inherit the kingdom of
