Aung San Suu Kyi Persuasive Techniques
The first persuasive technique used in Aung San Suu Kyi's essay "Freedom From Fear" is anecdote. She referred to an incident, where students were protesting against issues, such as the death of their friends and their rights. From this reference, the writer tries to add flavour to the essay by giving information about past events. This shows how Burmese reacted to the unjust. Therefore, readers will feel sympathy towards the event.

The next persuasive technique used is symbolism. In the essay, "glass splinters" are seen as a symbol of the ignition of courage that is an important attribute of those who wants to gain freedom from oppression.
