Assignment 1: 11 Facts About Child Abuse

“ 1 out of 3 girls and 1 out of 5 boys will be sexually abused before they reach the age of 18” (11 Facts About Child Abuse). There are plenty different type of abuses. Abuse is in no way, shape, or form right. Abuse should not happen anybody. What is child abuse? Child abuse is physical, mental, emotional mistreatment to a person at a young age. It has a long lasting effect on the child because it causes them to make bad life decisions, deal with mental damage, and have low self-steam. People who were abused during childhood tend to do unlawful things in adulthood. “Children who were abused were at greater risk to take drugs and abuse their own children as adults” (Poladian). Child abuse shows the physical affect that could happen to them as an adult. They use alcohol and drugs “to get rid of problems”. Most of the time, if they do not feel better after, they will attempt suicide. Nobody deserve to feel so terrible that they want to take their own life. The drugs that people do can also lead to

The abuse they obtain as a child caused them to develop certain disease such as Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and Bipolar Disorder. Another form of child abuse is sexual abuse which could sometimes cause you to catch Sexually Transmitted Disease and Sexually Transmitted Infections. Some signs to know if the child is being sexually abused is if they have bruises, acting aggressive, trouble sitting, and pregnant at a young age. If a child has all of this going on, they will most likely feel embarrassed. If they feel embarrassed, they will most likely distance themselves from the rest of the world.
