Ase Reflection
When I first learned of the ASE program, I knew that I had to apply. I heard about the ASE internship program through mutual friends and hope that the program will allow me to develop and specialize my knowledge and ability in computer science or engineering in a way that would not be possible through my high school. I would make capable and proficient intern due to my readiness to learn and proficiency with technology.
I believe I will be a perfect fit for an ASE internship because of my resilience and interest in science - particularly subjects pertaining to computer science and engineering. Academically and intellectually, I enjoy being challenged. In school, I take challenging classes such as AP Chemistry and AP Physics. These hard courses have allowed me to develop a strong work ethic and the mindset to overcome adversity. Furthermore, I believe that my written and verbal communication skills are very effective. In school, advanced writing classes such as AP Language and Composition have taught me to be able to write concise and effective essays. The many AP science classes I have taken reflect my aptitude at

It will also allow me to further develop my skills in writing professional reports, and gain knowledge and exposure to the world of engineering and computer science. As of now, I know the broad subject in which I will major in college for, but I am still not sure of the details of what I should specialize in. My regular high school does not provide very specialized classes and this deficiency is one of my primary motivating factors for applying to ASE.
I believe the ASE program has much to offer me - yet I also believe that, as an intern, I have much to offer the program. I hope to hear from you soon. Thank you for your valuable time and thoughtful consideration, and I look forward to working with

This was the biggest issue I had while attending UCD. Coming out of the STR program and deciding to complete the Master's program I found it difficult to navigate what was expected of us. This was because depending on who I spoke to the answers about what I needed to do were completely different. For example we were given a sheet with required classes to complete when we completed STR then when we started to take those classes we were told we were taking classes we didnt need to. Then when we began to do the culminating experience nobody could tell us exactly what was expected of us through this process and up until we started CLDE 5035 we were told we didnt have to complete the culminating experience. So my advice to the school on advising…

I want to acquire the necessary skills and professional behaviors to become an entry-level dietitian and this dietetic internship would provide me with the techniques and tools to get me there. In the future I would like to become a board certified specialist in either nutrition support or pediatrics. Being an intern at UVA health systems would present me with the opportunities to explore different specialties of nutrition by learning from well-respected experts to help me determine which area I am most passionate about. Getting the opportunity to participate in unique rotations such as transplant, PICU and nutrition support emergency/medicine will give me an advantage in the future to learn what specialty suits me the…

Waiting eagerly in our school garden, I was about to meet the five fourth graders that I was going to be grouped with for the rest of the year. I was a bit casual about the “meet and greet” because I could not determine how well I would fair with these little children. I could not predict whether these kids will enjoy my company or loathe it. After a lengthy thirty minute wait, the kids began to slowly flood onto the field. I was introduced to each student one by one and the first thought that ran through my mind was “How am I going to connect with someone who’s so different?” They were so reserved and quiet and I found it troubling having to find something to stimulate these them. My mind quickly jumped to all the basic questions to try to…
