Art Museum
I think that our 5th grade should go to the art museum. The reason we should go is because of the amazing art because the art there is really beautiful. The other reason is to learn about the history and why they made it.The last reason is because of the history. The history is really fun to learn about. My first reason is because of the history. The history is really cool to see and learn about. The reason I picked history is because I like to learn about people from an earlier time. So, that is my first reason why we should go to an art museum. My other reason is because of the amazing art. The artwork is outstanding and is very detailed. The artists express their own feelings into their artwork. It is also very cool to look

For my visual analysis assignment I chose to go visit the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. It has been an extremely long time since I last visited a museum. I took my twelve year old son with me to explore what the museum had to offer. We found the art to be very interesting, educational and unique. There were so many beautiful pieces throughout the museum that it was difficult trying to decide which one I wanted to base my visual analysis on.…

The reddish strokes in the space above the hat could represent anxiety or uncertainty, which is what his facially expression seems to present to the viewer as well. The grayish paint strokes represented in the negative space outside van Gogh’s image sharply contrasts with the orange, yellow and reddish colors in the facial area and hat, which adds to the overall boldness and vibrancy of the painting. In addition, the space appears to be illusionistic, as the painter depicts an illusion (van Gogh himself) of the three-dimensional spatial world on a two-dimensional…

For my cultural event I decided to go and visit the Orlando Museum of Art. There were a lot of different types of art on display. My favorite exhibits had to be the ones on American landscape and the Tony Robbin exhibit. Those both really captured my attention. I also saw all of the art that the Aztecs created. It’s crazy how people from such a long time ago can create such wonderful art. There was one really cool exhibit by David Isenhour and instead of actual paintings, it was very unique looking sculptures that actually made you stand there and think about them and what the artist was thinking when he created them.…

In this painting, I can clearly see a little boy sitting down. The boy is staring right at the painter, Robert Henri. The boy has a brown hat on, and a suit like appearance with a blazer, and a nice dress shirt. The boy seems to be worried at something. The background is a dark blue, indicating to me, something scary, and there are no forms of light.…

    Ethnographic Museums

In this essay, I will argue that ethnographic museums privilege viewing, at the expense of other senses. I will further argue that by privileging the visual, ethnographic museums become problematic in two ways- firstly, by not accurately representing the cultures they are supposed to be exhibiting, and secondly, by limiting the experience of museum-goers who may be visually impaired or otherwise unable to visit museums that are purely mono-sensorial. After outlining and discussing the problems associated with ocularcentric post-colonial museums, I will offer a few solutions to these problems.
The majority of colonial museums privileged viewing and the visual. In the 17th and 18th century, Europeans believed reason and sensuality to be opposing…

During a recent visit to the San Antonio Museum of Art, I was able to view many pieces and types of artwork. This particular museum exhibits pieces that come from the period of the Ancient Egyptians all the way up to modern art. It was a very interesting experience and one that I would definitely like to repeat in the future. The piece that was most interesting to me was a Roman floor mosaic that depicts The Battle of Lapiths and Centaurs. A mosaic is a picture or pattern created by fixing together mall pieces of stone, glass, tile and other materials (DeWitte, Larmann and Shields 629)…

Before arriving to England, I looked at the list of class trips that our Sites and Sights group would be attending. I had not heard of about half of the places, including the Tate Modern. On the twenty third of October, we had the pleasure of visiting this museum. At first, I was not sure if I would enjoy it because I am usually not interested in art. Our tour guide provided us with more knowledge about art in general as well as different ways to approach and examine art. There are so many pieces of art to look at with not nearly enough time. However, the objects, sculptures and paintings my tour guide showed us made the day unforgettable. Most art museums specifically only display pieces from hundreds of years ago, but this particular museum…

The Denver Art Museum is a great place to me because it makes me want to become just like them and maybe one day have my artwork next to theirs. I really love to do art and I love to be able to show people my lift through my art which is what I saw in the images. It confused me that I could understand the images that I was seeing at first when I first when to the art museum. Then when I started to do my art and slowly understand that I was able to look and understand because I was an artist myself or I had the mind of an artist. Every image that I looked up and every time I wanted to do art made me feel empowered and great. I love to be able to look at art and try to understand what the art is trying to show me. I love to be able to look at a piece and understand what the art was trying to get through the image or what I feel like they were telling. Art is a great thing that shows people what people are thinking without being in the…

The Leonardo and the Aquarium are both really fun places to go and teach you new things about something you might already know a little bit about. The places are different yet they have a lot in common. For one thing, they both have a lot to look at and do. They are also fun for older people as well as the younger ones. This helps because sometimes when the kids our having fun, the parents aren't. These places make it so that everyone can enjoy.
