Michael Argyles communication cycle has a total of six stages altogether.
1. AN IDEA OCCURS - you have an idea that you would like to communicate
2. MESSAGE CODED - you think through how you are going to say what you are thinking
3. MESSAGE SENT - you use a certain type of communication in order to get your message across
4. MESSAGE RECIEVED - the other person has to sense your message
5. MESSAGE DECODED - the other person has to interpret or decode your message
6. MESSAGE UNDERSTOOD - your ideas may be understood, however this may not always be the case as it may sometimes take a few attempts
