This journal will evaluate the idea presented by Hymowitz in the essay that tweens are becoming more inclined towards crime and violence.…

According to pew.org, it states that 16% of parent with kids ages 15-18 use restrictions on their kids phones, and a survey showed that 38 percent of parents didn’t think that restrictions were good, and the second highest score was it depends. This confirms my claim because George and Lydia didn’t realize that their kids can do acres of stuff online, and that it is not safe. So when the kids had the nursery as a savanna, they misused their freedom, and the parents didn’t even know. When kids their electronics taken away, they get in a fowl…

In modern times, it is a rational speculation to say nine out ten teenagers own a cell phone of some type. It is also within reason to say that cell phone use has doubled in the past ten years and will most likely double again ten years from now. Teens nowadays are much more tech friendly than their parents due solely to the fact that they have been surrounded by technology ever since birth. Also, the human brain learns much quicker when it is young. During those early years, it is important for teens to learn skills such as responsibility and good communication. As cell phone technology continues to advance, the human race will eventually use a cell phone for just about anything.…

I think, if it is not too late, you should talk to your teen or kiddo about the responsibilities of cell phone use prior to giving them the cell. You should have a discussion around each of your expectations of cell phone use as well as some of the dangers of misuse. Consequences for misuse of cell phones should be discussed up front and prior to them becoming problematic (ideally). Teens should know what the consequences will be before they ever "cross the line." The punishment should fit the crime, too. It is important that all parents understand that cell phone use is an integral part of teen life now and restricting access for prolonged periods of time is likely to result in quite a battle with the teen and many hurt…

Mobile phones keep children safer, as it is easier for parents to stay in touch with their children and for children to contact someone in an emergency. Through calls and texts, parents can know where their child is and be reassured that he or she is safe; all the while their children know they are never more than a phone call away from help. As Leslie Sharpe argues, ‘I wanted to ensure that they had a way of contacting me in an emergency’. It is, however, true that some children carrying the most sophisticated or ‘Smart’ phones are more susceptible to being robbed, but thieves are always after something new. Phones now are both much more widespread and security coded, so the benefits to thieves are no longer as great or immediate. Traffic accidents that are the result of children being distracted by their phones while walking across roads should be blamed on bad safety education rather than on the actual phones. Ultimately, mobile phones provide parents and young people with peace of mind and children with a safety net in emergencies, whether calling parents or the emergency services.…
