Arguments Against Racism Today
Racism has existed ever since human presence. In the past, the history told us it was a serious issue and as humans became more civilized they realized this unfairness. Human beings have gone through wars (US Civil war) and created legislations (such as the Charter of Human Rights) to minimize the racism across different countries. However, racism still exists and that is why we bring our attention to discuss the idea of racism. Issues that outline racial discrimination include why it is happening, where it is occurring today, and why it is an issue that is worth talking about. Why is racism happening around us? I wonder why the human races of our own kind attack each other with insults. We are the same species and at the core, the same people.

For example the incident of an African suspect (Michael Brown) fatally shot by a Caucasian police man (Darren Wilson) caused huge controversies, leading to protests and civil unrest erupted. If you reverse the situation of the Caucasian man was shot by an African man, whether if the situation is the same degree of dispute that arises in the community and how do the people react and express? Even legislation against racism exists, but people still need to be educated to change their stereotype. Nowadays the political righteousness is another trend to reflect how the society is taking care of racism. How can we start from ourselves to eliminate racism? Regardless of opinion, culture and religion we are all equal and should not treat another race indifferently. The issue is worth our attention because the act of racism is a topic that is either ignored or buried. On the other hand racism has impacted many individuals through unequal treatment knowing it is wrong, society still accepts racism. In summary, racism creates a society of people not being able to trust or respect each other. Racism is an issue we should all be able to discuss and consider, as it is a critical subject in the minds of every human being. If racism were to be dealt with, imagine a society where everyone lives in an enjoyable environment, not worrying whether you will be looked down upon due
