Many people argue about whether college is a worthy investment. Most of those who debate this topic assume that those who attend college will graduate. This makes sense because if someone does not graduate then college was clearly a bad investment for him or her. However, the fate of those people who attend college but do not graduate or graduate with a worthless degree is sometimes forgotten. Almost half of all students who attend a college or university in the U.S. borrow money and 20% of those borrowers never graduate (Gladieux and Perna, 2).
