Argumentative Essay: Hillary Clinton And Gun Violence
In the United States, every day, over 300 people are shot in murders, assaults, suicides or suicide attempts, unintentional shootings, and police intervention. Every day, 90 of those victims are killed. Over the past 10 years, the number of shootings, particularly of unarmed black men by police, has skyrocketed, according to USA Today’s shooting investigation chart. Our country has done close to nothing to stop the tragic events. Hillary Clinton will be the one who changes that. She has detailed plans on how she wants to end gun violence, by enforcing criminal background checks and no-fly list checks in order to purchase guns. I agree with her views on stepping in, and lowering the amounts of shootings.

Over the past few centuries of our government’s existence, we have never once had a female president. Our history books are filled with stories on how hard women had to fight, just for a vote! We have been working towards making women equal to men for around a century, so why not take the chance to show the world how far we’ve gotten? Having a female president such as Hillary Clinton would move our country forward towards our goal of complete gender equality.

According to NASA, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration, carbon dioxide levels in our atmosphere have gone up 28 parts per million since 2002. Along with that, global temperature has increased by 1.7°F since 1880, and arctic ice is decreasing by 13.3% every decade. Each of these crazy changes are caused by the burning of fossil fuels and emissions of greenhouse gasses, such as methane. According to Hillaryclinton.com, Clinton believes in replacing fossil fuels with renewable energy, therefore reducing the burning of fossil fuels and greenhouse gas emissions. Her plan is to generate enough energy to power all of America within 10 years of taking office. Hillary Clinton will fight to make environmental and climate justice the central

This existing policy of course is the second amendment. She explains how she highly agrees with the amendment but that people are seeing the amendment in the wrong way. The second amendment states “A well-regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed” The author also has no facts to be proven, her argument is mostly surrounded by opinion and belief. The only facts she really has are the most obvious to everyone: like a person who drives a car is licensed or the second amendment has the word militia in it.…

Every time there is a tragic event such as a mass shooting, the idea of gun control becomes the number one topic of discussion. Many forms of gun control have been the result of a tragic event. The Brady Handgun Violence Prevention Act of 1993, for example, is a result of the attempted assassination of President Ronald Reagan, which left James Brady with disabilities for the remainder of his life. Another example of post tragedy ideas for gun control came as the result of the attempted assassination of Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords. These would include expanding and strengthening the current background check system, as well as instituting federal laws against gun trafficking. Congresswoman Giffords would also like to receive federal funding to research the “Cause and Impact of Gun Violence”.…

I agree with your perspective regarding our mental health care system. Gun violence's are typically "crimes of passion" and unfortunately, the lack of mental health resources is a huge issue. We have all heard of the unfortunate stories of family members desperately trying to get their loved ones, in a psychiatric crisis, help to no avail. Sadly, both our mental health care system and our gun control system is inadequate due to lack of interest or concern and tragically there are cases when both systems fail (Knopf, 2014). Although, we are aware of the issues, there are still several questions that still need answering. First of all, is there evidence that if an individual is treated appropriately would this advert a tragic event (Knopf,…

Hilary Clinton says that she plans to power background checks and close high-risk loopholes in our country. She also wants to make gun sellers and makers accountable for guns being in the hands of terrorists, domestic abusers, and other violent criminals. As I quote she says, “I don’t know how we keep seeing shooting after shooting, read about the people murdered because they went to Bible study or they went to the movies or they were just doing their job, and not finally say we’ve got to do something about this.” This is so true we hear about shootings after shootings all over the world. People would say shootings only happen in bad neighborhoods, and ghettos. That is so not true gun violence is happening everywhere and this needs to be stopped.…

Laws having to do with gun control should have stricter regulations and require more in-depth background checks before anyone is allowed to purchase a fire arm. Gun control has been a major debate for a very long time now. It started hundreds of years ago in different parts of the world and continues today. Though there are always two sides to an argument, I firmly believe that being pro-gun control is important.…

Mass shooting have grown exponentially after the 1999 school shooting of Columbine this shooting involved two students that planned and killed 12 of their peers along with a teacher before both committing suicide. There are many people that offer what they feel would be the best solution to mass shootings. One of them being Mona Charen who says that it could be fixed with mental health system reform and censorship of media including games to movies.Placing guards in schools along with creating strict rules and regulations to obtain firearms. Mass shootings across the US would drop significantly if more tests had to be taken when registering for a weapon or purchasing ammunition to assure the purchaser is not mentally impaired. This plan along with her solution is a great way to help decrease mass shootings.…

Gun Violence will never go away as long as there are guns. Guns will never go away as long as Americans hold their right to the Second Amendment. Balance is needed in a world filled with the good and bad. With the rise of mass murders, homicides and aggravated assaults involving firearms, a desperate time for gun control is needed for order in this country. Gun Control needs a higher standard for law abiding citizens.…

The amount of gun shootings and gun related deaths in America today is just horrific. A recent poll states that there are two hundred and seventy gun related deaths every day in America on average (Giffords, Kelly 165). “We can not let a minority of people- and that's what this is, a minority of people- hold a viewpoint that terrorizes the majority of people,” said Hillary…

One of the biggest controversial topics in America today is Gun Control, whether we should or should not have gun control. The Government claims that if they take the guns away, that there will be a drop in deaths and crimes. The Second Amendment state that every citizen of the United States of America has a right to bare arms(ProCon#1). The Gun Control Law will take away that right completely, along with some of our freedom. If the Gun Control Law is enforced in the United States, our hunting right will be removed, our self-defense right will be taken away, and it will amplify the problem.…
