ATTENTION ATTENTION!! Allies and Germany faced off in the Argonne forest!! The battle was on September 26 through November 11 in 1918. The battle was located in Argonne Forest in France on the Western Front. This is one of the greatest and largest battle ever fought in American history! This battle was a muddy, rainy battle with barbed wire and lots of machine guns. Germans had been fortifying the Argonne Forest since 1915. Germans Army objective was to control the railroad hub at Sedan that would break the rail network supporting the Germans in France. Many members were men drafted from New York in the Battle of Argonne Forest. Sergeant Alvin York was responsible for killing twenty five germans and capturing one hundred and thirty two
