Archetypes Optimus Prime

It is in the Name of Optimus Prime When some people think of a hero, what comes to mind is Optimus Prime. In the film Transformers, Prime is all about power and leadership. Although faced with overwhelming forces of evil from the Decepticons, Optimus Prime surpasses the expectations of his enemies and displays hero, warrior, and chief character archetypes in protecting the planet earth from absolute destruction. The character archetype of a hero is generally the one who embarks on a journey to complete a task in order to reestablish an optimum way of living or perfection in a community. Optimus Prime fits this character archetype because he embarks on the journey to find the Allspark to restore power and fertility to Cybertron (Transformers).
The other character archetype is of a warrior which represents superior qualities of loyalty and undying dedication to serve and protect others till the end. This archetype includes characteristics of invincibility and notable courage. Optimus Prime undeniably possesses the character archetype of a warrior displayed by his devotion in protecting the earth from the wrath of the Decepticons. He is also the one who fights his brother, Megatron, who nearly kills Prime but is later defeated (Transformers). Prime displayed outstanding bravery when he was willing to sacrifice himself in order to save the humans. Throughout the film, Prime is virtually untouchable and seems to be the reason why the Autobots survive.
Leader, stern, inspirational, and wise are the definition of the chief character archetype. Optimus Prime did just these three things. He was the dynamic leader giving orders to all the Autobots and providing someone to look up to for inspiration when team morale is down. Prime was also the source of wisdom always knowing what to do not losing composure and remaining stern (Transformers).
