Adoption of Global E‐Commerce in Arab countries  2008

ABSTRACT
Global e-commerce is created by the combination of information and communication technologies; it goes beyond boundaries while changing the global economy. In just a few years, its impact has already been immense and its benefits are recognised by organisations, individuals, families, institutes and governments around the world. This essay explores the diffusion of global electronic commerce in Arab countries. It also looks at certain Internet characteristics and e-commerce issues in the region and brings some of the critical challenges facing the diffusion of the Internet and its applications in Arab countries. Generally, the review discloses that most Arab countries still have a long way to go before being able to fully comprehend the advantages of electronic commerce.
