To determine her easy reading level she read, Are You Okay? There was one error, which did not have any effect on her comprehension of the story. One word was simply omitted, but sentence meaning and structure was not affected. Her self-corrections were all based on visual information, she used synonyms for the word presented. Later the work becomes a little repetitive but the points made are valid. The focus of the essay seems wayward on occasion with the student more concerned with what the book teaches the reader. The final paragraph sums up the essay reasonably well. However, there is much to praise in this essay. The student constantly quotes from the text and her quotations are well chosen and supported by intelligent comment. On the other hand, it is a little disorganised and does not stay firmly fixed on task. It would seem that the student has decided on her list of qualities and then given examples to support her points. She misses the chance to link the qualities to the reaction they inspire in the children. This is Band 4 work and deserves a mark of 29. There is no doubt that the student’s engagement with text is good,…

Bogyman syndrome is basically a fear that parents have from allowing their children the freedom they themselves enjoyed when they were young. This type of fear that parents have is what separates their child from the full benefits of nature and from having a healthy normal childhood. Many of the reason to why parents experience such fear is because in the type of society we live in, which is full of crime, drugs, violence and of course kidnappers. What many people don’t realize is that many of these things are feared because of the way the media presents it.…

To write a quality paper the students will need to research their topic thoroughly and determine a position they would like to argue for or against. Then, they will need to understand the counter-arguments of their stance and construct a high-quality defense for their topic while acknowledging where it may be lacking in support. Students will feel a sense of autonomy because they will be allowed to choose what they will write about and simultaneously improve their critical thinking skills in the process. Further, students will be provided with a rubric that will outline what is expected of them but they will have plenty of maneuverability within the parameters of the assignment. Through observation and criterion-referenced assessment, the teacher will receive a clearer understanding of the students’…
