One of my greatest accomplishments was graduating from the University of Northern Colorado with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in finance. While working a full-time job consecutively juggling school activities I completed my degree in three and a half years. I was encouraged by my grandfather who was once a Dean of Educational Services at Miami University and consequently had a long legacy of being a superior educator. Completing my degree and starting a career in Banking at Wells Fargo brought an abundance of pride to me and my family. Starting as a Teller I worked my way to becoming a Branch Manager in four years. After devoting ten years in Retail Banking I transitioned to Business Banking. Within six months I became a Business Banking Administration Manager, managing Business Banking Associates and operations among 5 different locations. Three years later I learned that a Business Banking reorganization was going to happen furthermore, I amongst numerous others…

Of course it involves the obvious, such as management and marketing, but there’s an increasing need for business majors to apply for their skills in government, international commerce, health care and non-profit organizations. These areas serve as the back bone for economic, political and social systems at all levels. A business degree can be applied to virtually any industry and…

It appears that out of the scholarly research of many who have dedicated their lives to learning more about the chimpanzees and their characteristics most common in us have found and believe that chimpanzees do in fact have culture, just like humans do. Through studies and observations by de Waal, the two terms anthromorphism and anthropodenial are said to be opposite from each other. Anthromorphism is the understanding and acceptance to inner life in other animals that are related to human characteristics. Anthropodenial is the denial or acceptance to the understanding of animal inner life that admits to other animals having any human characteristics. What de Waal means by these two terms is that back from when the ancients looked at animals, they never considered looking at them with any kind of physical or emotional appearances that could be similar to those of humans. René Descartes is one who believed and lived an anthropodenial lifestyle, but once Charles Darwin made his opinion and studies known from an anthropomorphism view, all that that was believed of differentiates between animals and humans became an apparent controversy.…

I have enjoyed my major, but I did not have a clear path for after graduation and this program has helped me gain a clear direction. Listening to all the guest speakers we have had over the semester, I realized that every single person mentioned waiting a couple of years before going to graduate school. Furthermore, the graduate school panel we had was by far one of the most useful panels we have had this semester. All three of the panelists took different paths to get to graduate school but they made it very clear that graduate school should be used a tool to enhance a career and improve on skills that could help you go further in a job. Rather than just incurring debt and not using your graduate degree, it is supposed to be a gateway to the next step in our careers – advice that I have found super beneficial. I have decided to wait for graduate school and to build up a couple of years of experience first. I feel like I need some time to figure out what career path I am interested in before I jump into graduate or law…

There is a lot I learned studying the primates. Primates are very fascinating and I think there is a lot more to learn about them. Primates have many different characteristics and because of this they are classified in different groups of species. I did my observation on prosimians, monkeys, and apes as well. The observation was conducted at the Sacramento Zoo of nine primate species. Out of the nine there are three primates that caught my attention and it’s the Ring Tail Lemur, White Faced Saki, and the Chimpanzee. All the observation took place almost in the afternoon during their feeding time and they were not that active but were still able to observe their behavior.…
