Anne Frank Maturing Her Mother's Relationship

Anne is maturing in regards to her relationship with her mom in many different ways. Anne is getting better with her and her mom’s relationship, in mostly good ways. Anne feels different about her now than from when they started hiding. Anne is maturing her and her mother’s relationship by how to manage her anger, starting to understand mummy, and move past the past. First of all, Anne realizes how many bad things she wrote about mummy in the past and talks a little about how harsh she was on mummy. Anne wants to move forward and not worry about the past and she is glad to have wrote the bad things down on paper than said them to mummy and have them in mummy’s heart. In the text Anne says, “I soothe my conscience now with the thought that it is better for hard words to be on paper than that mummy should carry them in her heart.” that means
If Anne can understand her mother’s feelings then she can have a better relationship with her. Anne is understanding her mom more and in the text she says, “...it it certainly understandable why she snapped at me.” She snapped at her and now Anne understands the way she felt when she snapped. Anne realizes that she was being rude and irritating to her mother and now Anne understands that. Anne wants to be nicer to her mother now than she was before. Lastly, Anne is maturing her and her mother’s relationship by controlling her anger. Her mother is also doing this, but Anne has learned recently how to control it. Anne said when she gets mad at her mother she keeps her mouth shut and doesn’t talk back or anything. Same goes for her mom, if she gets mad at Anne she doesn’t talk or do anything back. In the text Anne says, “I usually keep my mouth shut if I get annoyed, and so does she, so we appear to get on much better together.” she means they both just be quiet when they are annoyed at each other and they will get along
