Angelina Jolie is arguably the most well known actress in Hollywood, but her acting/directing career is not what is catching the public's attention lately. Since the filming of her action adventure movie “Tomb Raider” in Cambodia, Jolie has dedicated her life to helping developing countries create more infrastructure. Including her mission work in African countries Jolie has also taken orphaned children from the countries she has visited and adopted them. What motivated her to join the United Nations Refugee agency (UNHCR) was seeing the poverty and destruction of countries, which led to her being one of the biggest advocates of many charities that she created herself.

Because of her acting career Jolie has a substantial amount of money to support her charities and fundraisers. After seeing such bad conditions in developing countries Jolie knew that it was her chance to prove that she wasn’t just another Hollywood superstar in a downward spiral, but that she actually cared about the rest of the world. Even while she is a big actress, Angelina Jolie insists on being treated just as another volunteer on mission trips, she sleeps in the same tents and eats the same food as all the other volunteers(“Angelina Jolie Pitt."). Being huble about her acomplishments is what makes Angelina Jolie so different from all the other Hollywood star who donate to charities.
