Analyzing Case Studies: Tietgen Dormitory: Case Study: Experiments
Analyzing case studies is an essential part of this present paper. This step is the process of studying several dormitory projects and the selection and the arrangement of elements and how the designer combine them to create a functional, aesthetic and quality space by colors, texture, forms and efficiency elements.

Three international dorms are will be analyzed according to elements, principles, functions and the overall concept:
 Tietgen dormitory
 North residential
 Simmons hall

1. Tietgen dormitory

In all the rooms there is a wall that made of plywood panels which serve two purposes. Firstly, it gave the place a touch of chicness and coziness. The wood is a very common material that give feeling of comfortable and many studies have shown the affect of the wood on the Psychological of people. The top of plywood panels is used also as a storage where students can put their things up to save space in the room. With the panels there is a closed bookcase at the end of the room as will as a moveable wardrobe. The rest of the walls are made of the same materials used in the dorm which is the smooth concrete. The flooring also it’s magnetite.

The beds are made of the same panels’ material. It placed align the wall to save space. For the rest of the room, the students have the free to arrange it in the way that suits their needs.
The bathroom

Because the Teitgen dorm want to encourage the socializing between the students, there is no kitchens in the suites, but it contains a big bathroom with heating, toilet and shower. The design is simple, but it is very organized. The used colors are neutral. The used material is ceramic tiles for floor and walls. Task light is used on the top of

    There were only three different elements in this room. The first elements, probably the most prominent ones, are the canvases. There are fourteen canvases adorning the eight walls of the interior of the Rothko Chapel. Three of the canvases are triptychs placed on three different walls each of them. The remaining of the other five canvases are displayed on the other five walls of the room. The main characteristics of this canvases are their black color and the huge dimensions of them. As for their dimension, they cover most of the walls, leaving only a certain space between them and the edges of the walls. The second elements are the simple wooden benches. There are twelve movable benches in total. They are divided in four groups and aligned in three rows each group. All of the grouped benches are facing towards the middle of the room.
