Analysis Of Violent Video Games Promote Anti-Social Behavior
In his essay ‘‘violent video games promote anti-social behaviour’’, Jack Flanagan, a science and technology journalist, discussed that video games are causing violence to whom who are addicted to it. He claims that people who tend to play video games are more likely to be aggressive compared to those who play ‘‘nice games’’. Gamers who are really involved in these aggressive games lose their empathy and feelings. These games promote somehow a kind of antisocial behaviour, for example drug use and poor romantic relationships. Flanagan supported this pervious statement by giving two examples of different experiments that compare the reaction for those who play aggressive video games vs others who play nice games. The results was similar to what he has mentioned, that these aggressive games promote lack of empathy and anti-social Behaviour. Another point that Flanagan pointed out that gamers tend to act like game characters or avatars in the reality. This act which could lead to negative behaviour attitude.
