Starting with similarities the thing's that the joker and batman have in common are they both wanna cause anarchy but for completely different reasons, batman wants to do good and have no evil but the joker wants chaos and corruption. Another similaritie is they are both willing to give anything to get what they want, also they do not care about the casualties they cause as long as they get what they want at the end. And the differences between both characters are that joker has no logic like batman, he doesn't think clearly about his decisions and does whatever he feels at the moment. Also the joker doesn't care about Gothem city like batman does he is willing to do anything to protect it while on the other hand joker could care…

Every story needs a hero, right? For centuries authors and poets have included this essential character into their work. Without knowing literature has been seldom following the same archetype, The Hero’s Journey. Joseph Campbell discovered that most stories follow this pattern which is why he dubbed it the monomyth. Through years of studying he found that this popular motif is made up of ten basic steps that a hero follows through a story. Well known film writer and director George Lucas molded the film Star Wars around Campbell’s monomyth not only with intent but quite distinctively. Lucas is not the only one doing this in Hollywood either, many screenwriters and directors have caught on to this including Andrew Stanton as he depicted his version of the monomyth in Finding Nemo. This animated film follows the archetype laid out in Joseph Campbell’s, The Hero With a Thousand Faces.…

Michael Gow effectively encapsulates a range of inter relating themes to allow the plot to have a strong sense of meaning. Gow’s realistic approach to the universal themes allow the audience to connect with the story as they are all relevant with current societal issues. These issues pertain to dysfunctional family structure and struggles. Most characters face one or many issues throughout the novel ranging from: grief and loss, to the healing power of nature to overcome obstacles within a journey, to the power of a journey to find one’s identity. Away is worthy of study as these universal themes are all explored in depth, giving an insight of life and issues pertaining to the 1960s to 1970’s (when the…

In the novels Hatchet and Forbidden City, the similarities and differences are within the conflicts of family, and a few examples of similarities are that that they are both boys, for both of them their parents got divorce, they felt really, neither of them felt happy about their parents divorce, they felt really angry and all the big problems that they face occur out of the country where they live, but at the same time there are some differences, such as Brian lives with his mom while Alex lives with his dad. Another difference is that their parents got divorced for different reasons because Brian's parents got divorced because his mom was cheating on his dad and his dad didn't know, it was the secret and Brian knew it "The Secret" is revealed in a dream flashback" (Hatchet, p.30)". On the other hand Alex's parents got divorced because Alex's mom was tired of Alex's dad, and she couldn't tolerate the way that Alex's dad is, and Alex knew that it was the reason "(Forbidden City pg.30)". So does his dad. Also Alex and Brian are different ages, Brian is a boy and Alex is a teenager. For these reasons they faced their parents divorce in a different way though, for Brian it was harder because he's just a boy and too young to understand it. For Alex it was easier because he took things in a more casonable way. Another difference is that they live in different countries, Alex lives in Canada and Brian lives in the United States.…

The difference between two writers can be very similar or very different. Often times authors have similarities whether they are from different backgrounds or not. In some sort of way two authors can think the same way due to keeping original languages and upbringings in their writings. On the other hand, they can also differ immensely. Salman Rushdie and Ngugi wa Thiong'o had two different upbringings, education, and attitudes toward literature.…

One of it is the plot of these two books. In both stories, the main character is put into hard positions where they have to make decisions that might change they’re lives forever. Not only that, both main characters meet new people on their quest and also fall in love. I did not notice they were that similar until I really thought about it. When you read a novel, you do not usually compare the characters with others from another novel. But I noticed that between these two books, both the main characters are orphans and both have kind, caring and strong characteristics. Whereas for the villain, has a strange, cruel and twisted personality. Every good novel needs a good ending sentence. “Daughter of the Sea, Hannah” concludes its story with: “I am not alone! There is a world out there.” While “The Fallen” concludes its novel with: “By touch he found what was needed, a twelve-inch blade that glinted sharply in the beams of sunlight that streamed in through openings in the boarded-up windows.” The first word that came into my mind was confidence. Why? Because they show me that they have decided on what they clearly want to do and they will do not give up no matter what. Something really interesting about the similarities about these two books is that the authors of these two books had me thinking and reflecting to myself. I thought; “If I were to make an important decision in the future, will I choose the right one? Can…

My first goal was to obtain my general Equivalency Diploma (GED) with the intentions of later attending college. It took me longer to achieve my goals, since I have had many personal obstacles in my way. At the age of 17, I became a married teenage single mother of a one month old baby. I did not have much of a family so I had to take care of my child on my own. My family was not the type to go to for help because they would take from someone leaving them helpless. Looking in the mirror one day after being knocked down for not cooking dinner, made me look into my soul through my eyes; I decided enduring a life with so much Domestic Violence that it was not for me.…
