American Cancer Society Mission Statement
American Cancer Society is a great non-governmental organization and international non-governmental organization to use for this report, this organization has a mission statement that states “See how, locally and internationally, the American Cancer Society strives to live by a clearly defined set of goals and ideas.”. This mission statements states that, no matter your location, the United States or internationally, there is an organization that is out there to help people who cannot financially afford cancer treatment. Not only does this organization work with adults and cancer but they also provide cancer treatments for children. Under the treatment and support options for the American Cancer Society they are able to make plans with their patients and their families for finding a way to pay for the treatment and dealing with insurance companies, also, they can provide cancer support programs and services in the patients’ local area. Second, The American Cancer Society provides living arrangements for treatment recipients and their families to stay if the treatment centers are not around their areas, this program is called Hope Lodge. Each Hope Lodge offers cancer patients and their caregivers a free place to stay when their best hope for effective treatment may be in another city. Not having to worry about where to stay or how to pay for lodging allows guests to focus on getting better. Hope Lodge provides a nurturing, home-like environment where guests can retreat to private rooms or connect with others. Every Hope Lodge also offers a variety of resources and information about cancer and how best to fight the disease. There are currently 30 locations of the Hope Lodge in the United States and Puerto Rica with over 44,000 patients and caregivers in these
