Amazing By Kanye Analysis
This past year has been an AMAZING year for me. Whether it be doing well in school, playing football for the first time, or even having Mr. Schmidt as my English teacher, it has been incredible. Even though Kanye made his song, “Amazing”, to show the world his massive ego, there are some lyrics that can represent how this year felt to me. After originally coming out in the album 808s & Heartbreak, it has been in numerous soundtracks and even entrance music for UFC fighters. Through many simple actions, this year has been one to remember. Tearing my ACL is a perfect example of how one event has not only changed this year, but for the rest of my life. There have also been lots of courses that I enjoyed and can relate to lyrics of the song, Although there have been many songs that have resonated with me and had meaning in my life, “Amazing”, by Kanye West, best illustrates my ninth grade year at Carmel High …show more content…
I have had to work harder than ever to get back to where I wanted to be. When Kanye sings, “if i ain't on my grind, then what you call that,” it symbolizes how hard Kanye has worked to be where he is right now. This can represent the pain and suffering I had to endure at physical therapy in order to be able to play sports at a higher level than before my injury. One of the “moral of the story” in “The Old Man and the Sea” is persistence. As we remember, Santiago went for about 80 days without catching a single fish. Even though many of us would have quit, Santiago stayed strong. Because of this, he was able to catch the huge marlin. I can relate to this because I will be unable to play sports for 9-12 months. While quitting sports all together could have been an option, I have only worked harder to get better. Although there were struggles associated with the injury, it allowed me to focus on one thing:

In 2005 Kanye West released “Roses” on his second studio album titled “Late Registration.” Though the composition is classified as hip-hop, it delves into many other genres and niches as it encompasses a wide-ranging mix of blues, rock, R&B, and many others. The extensive collaboration between West and film score producer Jon Brion during the making of the album resulted in a very unique orchestral-like sound thanks to the hiring of a full string section during production. The entirety of the album could be considered a breakthrough as it redefined the genre and what typical hip-hop was expected to sound like by juxtaposing heavy hip-hop beats with orchestral strings. It is this contributing factor that makes it so difficult to compare his musical style to that of any other artists.…

In the song,”The Show Goes On” by Lupe Fiasco, Lupe is saying that no matter what happens in life or the struggles you have, life must go on. Life is a show, even if there are mishaps or obstacles, the show can never end. Through thick and thin, life will never stop, you can only persevere through the dark times. In ”The Show Goes On”, the lyrics helps display the theme through literary devices such as metaphors, hyperboles, imagery, alliteration, and similes.…

The lyrics of the pop song, “Stronger”, by Kelly Clarkson, is highly significant because of its empowering message. The lyrics allow listeners to feel confident about being strong no matter what or who may try to bring someone down, even if it were their own mistakes. To convey this message, Clarkson used many literary devices. For example, in lines like, “What doesn't kill you makes you stronger, Stand a little taller” there is external rhyme, which makes the song more pleasurable to the ears. Its chorus, “What doesn't kill you makes you stronger” is a metaphor, that refers to the fact the previous mistakes and people that hurt one’s feelings, should making them stronger. The theme of these lyrics is that there needs to be growth…

Problems between composers and the general public have been mounting for over one hundred years. As advanced music rapidly changes, the public seemingly fails to posses the musical knowledge necessary to appreciate modern works of contemporary music. In 1958, Milton Babbitt examined this relationship in a piece entitled “Who Cares if You Listen?” In the article, Babbitt asses the public’s feelings on “advanced” music and concludes that it should not concern composers if their work doesn’t get an audience beyond a few colleagues. Musical masterpieces including Babbitt’s Semi Simple Variations and Stockhausen’s Gesang der Jünglinge exemplify why this is the case. Despite efforts to reach out to the public by composers such as Krzysztof Penderecki, the divide that separates these entities is even greater today.…

Beyonce is recognized as an icon of women empowerment. She is one of the most influential celebrities in the world. This novel takes place primarily in the city of Charlottesville, Virginia, during the period of the 1980s to the 2000s. Renee and Rob both met there in a bar named the ‘Eastern Standard’ both at the age of twenty-three. He initially planned to keep his relationship to Charlottesville strictly one of host and guest. Both he and Renee didn’t really favor Charlottesville. Then life had another plan for Rob and it was to fall in love. The setting was also a crucial part in the story because it was a music thriving environment at the time and in Charlottesville. Also, it shows that it greatly influenced the connection that Renee and Rob made with each other. The setting creates a very social atmosphere, which was something Rob wasn’t accustomed to until he began connecting with Renee. Three years after Renee died Sheffield is thinking of leaving Charlottesville when he states that, “Charlottesville was always going to be her place. I wanted it to stay that way.” Ergo, this excerpt shows that the setting is a key component to the memory of Renee. Soon after he moves to New York, he returned to Charlottesville to visit friends and he develops new friends. The entire aura of the book is based upon the setting. From the close bond that both “Robin Renee” shared during their closest times together in Charlottesville to their long distance that is represented symbolically with him living now in Brooklyn and Charlottesville and through all of the travels that they shared together as a couple . It also shows that even though he tries to move on after Renee he just can’t stop but want to return to the past (Charlottesville) and wish that Renee was still a part of his life.…

Even though he pushed himself to better his life, and get away from the unappreciated work, his body still remembered the hard work he went through. After the years of all the difficult work, his body “began to give out on him in his fifties, and it quit on him entirely before he turned sixty-five” (170). For most boys, they just followed in their father’s footsteps, taking those hard, body aching jobs. “They were bound to work as their fathers had worked, killing themselves or preparing to kill other”…

Kanye West’s 2007 hit song, “Stronger” uses Friedrich Nietzsche’s philosophy, “That which does not kill us makes us stronger”. In his novel, The Happiness Hypothesis, Jonathan Haidt states his hypothesis that people must endure all the hardships of life in order to grow in all aspects. I agree with both Nietzsche and Haidt that through perseverance of all difficulties that occur in life, we can develop a stronger physical, social, mental, and emotional state. I find Haidt’s suggestion interesting because many hardships I have endured and am continuing to endure, prove his suggestion valid.…

One of my favorite songs, recently, has been J. Cole’s Love Yourz. This song relate to feelings that we can all relate to, feelings of envy and jealously. We often look at the life styles of those around us, and we see what they have, and we compare ourselves to them. We feel that if we don’t live a certain life style or drive a fancy car that we are not living a purposeful life. We fall into the trap of focusing on others blessings and ignoring our own. From personal experience I have done this. I have looked at the blessing of others, and wondered why my blessings were not the same.…

The poetry “Amazing Grace” by John Newton is one of the most famous poems ever written and composed. “Amazing Grace” has been particularly influential and has affected lives since it was written. The reasons why “Amazing Grace” is influential are for the same reasons why I found this poem very interesting and engaging. The literary elements that attributed to the poem’s quality and importance are its form, content, and tone. These elements are what make “Amazing Grace” such an important and significant piece of poetry in history.…

It has to take incredible courage to process a challenge like losing a limb in war. Stories abound from young men and women who stepped on a mine, or were ambushed, and their vehicle blown-up. For some, the moment is frozen in time and they cannot shed it. For others, they don't remember anything before waking up in the hospital without all their parts. To take in that realization, and then go on to perform as a star athlete is to this author, unimaginable. The incredible strength and perseverance to go on with life and then for some, to further demonstrate their zeal for life in their high level of participation in sports, is mind blowing.…

In my essay, I went over how I overcome failure on a daily basis, and how I made the best out of a bad situation. The quote, “When life gives you bad hops, make great plays,” describes the situation with my back injury. This is because when the injury occurred I didn’t get down on myself I turned it into an opportunity to try new things, and to have fun supporting my team. I also described how I overcome failure on a daily basis by keeping a positive…

This is one song that really gets to me and make me really understand what he is talking about, because I truly love and appreciate my mom also.…
