Four factors that limit the primate’s diet is plant defense, the reproduction status of a female, seasonality, and competition. Plants can use physical barriers to stop animals from eating them. For example, some plants will use thorns others will use certain substances that make digestion difficult, resulting in small quantity conception. Female primates who are pregnant require more calories, meaning they need to obtain more food. If they are lactating they require 50% more calories compared to when they are not breastfeeding or pregnant, according to the online lecture of Primate Ecology. Seasonality proves as a challenge due to food sources becoming scarce. Depending on their location primates may look at small sources that have calories that will help their dietary needs. Lastly, competition will occur when there is a small supply of food primates will compete. Once they begin to compete for the primate who cannot defend itself might not be able to obtain any food.…

Bullying is a term that is well known by everyone but in the nursing profession it may not be well understood. Nurse bullying is defined as” repeated vicious, unreasonable actions from one nurse to another”. These actions are intended to intimidate, degrade, offend or humiliate another nurse. Nurse bullying is throughout the profession (Braithwaite, Hyde, Pope, 2010). This type of behavior is not limited to one hospital or one type of nurse. Nurse bullying can be found anywhere around us but a few of the most common feuds are between a new nurse and a senior nurse, an ICU nurse and a medical surgical nurse and definitely the day shift nurse and the night shift nurse (Stokowski, 2010).…
My personnel philosophy relates to setting priorities and time management. As a nurses it is very important to set priorities and manage your time accordingly. I do organize my shift by looking at the acuity of my patient and their needs. I do write down any procedures or medications that needs to be done first. I like to make to do list for my shift that keep me on track by knowing what needs to done before my shift ends. I think being a nurse do comes with some stress on the job, with a little planning and prioritizing, you can effectively manage the time you have at work, allowing you to provide better care for your…
Tyler great post! I think that many of the points you make are very good. I do see more resistance to change from some of the other nurses that I work with and I also see more resistance when the change is being mandated from the top down. One major change that is going on now at my clinic is that we are expanding hours and services. While no one is really ever excited about this change if those involved in the change had a say, that it would be more receptive (Sanford, 2016). For example, the hours on the weekend are expanding many of the nurses that I work with share the same thoughts that this is a great option for patients, but that the clinic is not giving any of the nurses that are going to be affected by the change any say. I think that…

Look up the word conflict in the dictionary and you will see several negative responses. Descriptions such as: to come into collision or disagreement; be at variance or in opposition; clash; to contend; do battle; controversy; quarrel; antagonism or opposition between interests or principles Random House (1975). With the negative reputation associated with this word, no wonder people tend to shy away when they start to enter into the area of conflict. D. Jordan (1996) suggests that there are two types of conflict: good, which is defined as cognitive conflict (C-type conflict) and, detrimental, defined as affective conflict (A-type conflict). The C-type conflict allows for creativity, to pull together a group of people with different opinions or ideas, to combine and brain storm all thoughts to develop the best solution for the problem. The A-type conflict is the negative form when you have animosity, hostility, un-resolveable differences, and egos to deal with. The list citing negative conflicts could go on forever. We will be investigating these types of conflicts, what managers can do to recognize conflict early, and what strategies they can use to resolve conflicts once they have advanced.…

In this story, the narrator is the townspeople of Jefferson. Emily Grierson was sort of like a mystery to the townspeople throughout the story. She was sort of a secluded kind of person. She lived in a decaying house that used to be white, but now has a sort of off color. Emily in her early childhood struggled with the approval from her father. Her father every time would force every man who was interested in her or possibly loved her away for what seems in most people’s opinion because they weren’t good enough for the father’s standards. So when her father had passed away, she fell in love with a man who goes by the name Homer Barron. He was not interested in Emily as she was interested in him. Homer had proclaimed to like men and spend time with men. When Emily heard this she had poisoned him to death. After, she took the body to a dark lifeless room located in the highest part of her house were she had spent the rest of her days sleeping next to the corpse.…
