Part I: Market Analysis
Found in 1931, Allstate has grown to a big company; it is the third biggest insurance agency in America. In 2011, there are 37,000 employees working for Allstate at about 10,850 different locations. Allstate is an insurance company in the protection and casually industry. They handle insurance products, wealth transfer, and financial products. According to their website, they believe in improving customers; lives by delivering more value than the competition by reinventing protection and retirement. They try to achieve this by following their company’s values of honesty, caring and integrity, inclusive diversity, engagement, accountability, and superior performance.

Allstate has some of the best discount on pricing offered to their customers. An example is that Allstate offers more discounts to student drivers than State Farm or GEICO. In terms of philanthropy, Allstate is involved in many different organizations. According to their website, 65 percent of Allstate employees and agency owners are involved in some sort activity in their communities. One of the things that Allstate sponsors is student athlete; Allstate offers many scholarships. Other things they are a part of include helping domestic violence survivors financial, and created an organization to combat urban violence in Chicago called Get In Chicago. Allstate has also created a web base television show that is targeted towards teenagers. The show is about teenagers who get into dangerous driving situations. Allstate has great customer interaction such as technology. One of the things that Allstate has done is launch mobile apps for their customers. For example, the Allstate Roadside Assistance App lets the customer be able to call Allstate for help if there is a problem with their car. Another app is called the Good Ride App. Allstate made an app that allows their customers to plan their road trip to ensure a smooth ride. In total, Allstate has created nine different apps. Other things included in customer interactions are the Allstate Arena, and Mayhem, and the Good Guy, who are the Allstate mascots. The last attribute is service. Allstate offers many different ways for a customer to contact a customer service representative via phone, text, and email. They also have a 24 hour service helpline for round the clock service. Also, the service is friendly and very helpful. According to their website, all customer service representatives undergo extensive training before they work. This means that employees are being paid for work they are not doing. This will increase the payroll expense as more hours will be needed to complete the same level of work.
