Allergist Career Goals
Since High School is getting close and I was starting to wonder about what career I wanted to do. I needed to find the path of study I needed to take in High School in order to have a career. So in ELA, we took two surveys to find out more about ourselves and find a career that matched our skills and the activities we liked to do. The surveys helped me learn more about my skill levels and what kind of jobs would be right for me. My goals for this paper is to look ahead into the future and see what I will be doing in a couple of years, learn more about what I need to do in order to raise my lower skill levels and be prepared for a career, and lastly I want to find a study path that is right for me and helps me get the career I want.

An Allergist does many things like, diagnose or treat allergic conditions, performs diagnostic tests such as skin pricks, educates patients about diagnoses or treatments, prescribes medication, develops individualized treatment plans, documents patient’s medical history, conducts physical examinations, and provides therapies. The interest for an allergist is social, realistic, and investigative which all match all of my top skills.

An allergist annual salary is $168,670, the entry annual wage is $47,300. The hourly wage is $81.09, the entry hourly wage is $22.74. There is limited travel and most of the work is done inside.

I think that being an Allergist is a good job for me because with having so many allergies myself I understand the struggle and would like to help others through it. I would also love to learn about allergies, like what causes them and how to prevent them. This career will always be important because there are tons of people dealing with allergies and until there is a solution for them there will be a need for

A PhD is the minimum educational requirement for medical scientist but both are particularly helpful.

My dream college UNC Chapel Hill, they have one of the best immunology/Allergist program. They focus and have a strong emphasis on research training in order to help students with hands on training to give them the mindset that enables them to approach situations in a systematic yet creative and “out of the box” way. The medical program ensures graduates are well positioned for success. The allergy/immunology program allows you to train with todays foremost experts through a combination of high-impact and evidence-based instructions and focus on cutting-edge training.

Some of the schools that offer programs for Immunology and Allergy include Duke, North Carolina State, and Wake Forest. To pay for college I plan on using the money that is being saved up for me in my college fund.

I can definitively, and honestly state that Paul L. Foster School of Medicine is the school of which I have the greatest interest in attending. For eighteen years, I have called the border city of El Paso my home. Our amiable and uniquely culturally diverse population is the reason that I have found living in El Paso to be extremely comforting. The loving nature of the people of El Paso allowed me to develop many friendships, which helped create countless beautiful memories. I want nothing more than to continue my education in El Paso, and to watch this city continue to evolve. Further, I wish to practice medicine in this community which has given so much to my family and me.…

Living with chronic hives is hard. Today I take three different high-dosage prescriptions with almost impossible to overcome side effects ranging from extreme drowsiness to hallucinations. The worst of the condition arrived sophomore year when my hives worsened as reactions appeared even after taking my medicine. I went to several specialists who suggested I start a series of tests transforming my life into an uneven balance between doctor’s visits and school. Throughout my education, science based courses have been a central core. One course that left an indelible mark was called, “Medical Careers”. I had the invaluable opportunity to shadow and learn hands-on material from both doctors and nurses at Harvard Medical School and Beth Israel Hospital. It was not until then that I decided to pursue a career in the medical field. However, in such an extensive field, it was difficult to narrow down to a single profession.…

What school should I go to? I asked myself this question many times. What I had to figure out first is what I wanted to do with my life after the military. After talking to friend and family about colleges I was told I should get enrolled and take my general education classes and at least get those knocked out. I needed to find a school that was flexible and understanding of my busy lifestyle. A school that has worked with military before and understands how one second we are home with the family and the next second deployed overseas for months at a time. While on vacation with some family in Florida I noticed my sister-in-law who was active duty Air Force writing a paper for college. I asked her what college she was in. that’s when I first heard…
