Spiritual Gifts Paper

PART ONE: What are your top two spiritual gifts? Do you agree with the results? Why or why not?
The results of my Personalized Spiritual Gifts Analysis show that Administration is number one followed by Exhortation. I agree with the outcome of this analysis. I’ve always been a natural leader and find that others trust me in leadership roles. If I am with a group of people I automatically assume the position of being a leader when no one else will. I feel that I am especially great at doing this when the people don’t know each other and I help everyone to work together. It is fun and motivating for me. It develops me as an individual when I have others counting on me. I take a lot of pride in knowing that the outcome of a situation is directly affected by me. Of course, that sometimes means accepting responsibility for failure and learning from your mistakes.
My second most dominant Spiritual Gift is Exhortation. This means that I like to encourage people, work wel with others as well as one-on-one and have a “get it done” attitude. I agree with this Spiritual Gift for many reasons. As I was reading the analysis it talked about how I need to be careful not to interrupt others. It was very ironic to read as I tend to jump into conversations while others are speaking because I am excited about the topic. There was one part that I disagreed with. It said that I am very “serious-minded, orderly and able to explain how to apply God’s word.” I feel that these are area’s I am weak in and need to work on.

PART TWO: Specifically, how can you use your gifts at this time? How might you misuse your gifts? Be specific.
There are good and bad things I can use my Spiritual Gifts towards in life. For Administration I see myself applying this to my work, personal and spiritual life. My title at work is Director of Social Marketing. I have to manage employees under me to make sure they not only get

Chapter 6 is all based the strengthening of friendship between the characters of Caitlin and Bill and of Old bill and Billy. In the section Comfort Bill talks about how he hated school and didn’t have any friends. The repetition of the negative quotes in the section emphasises how Billy did not belong in his old environment. “I never talked to girls, I hardly talked to anyone. Sure, I answered questions from teachers and occasionally I’d talk to some guys I’d know for years. But I didn’t have any friends”. This links back to the harsh and abusive environment Billy grew up in, as stated in previous chapters.…

Spirituality in leadership is conceived by many as awareness within individuals of a sense of connectedness that exists with their inner selves and the world (Korac-Kakabadse, Kouzmin and Kakabadse, 2002). Moral leadership includes traditional functions but apply the functions in moral ways. Most moral leaders are viewed as forthright, frank, honest, and candid, to list a few. Elements of moral leadership include: building shared values, vision setting, sharing meaning, enabling, influence and power, intuition, service and transformation (Korac-Kakabadse, Kouzmin and Kakabadse, 2002). Those leaders who take spirituality critically with good grace are able to more readily lead and articulate the vision of the organization.…

After completing the StregthsQuest survey, I learned that my five greatest strengths are Harmony, Competition, Achiever, Includer, and Communication. Some of these strengths I had previously recognized as a strength, but a few were a surprise to me. Growing up, I was always a competitive person. I enjoyed the thrill of winning, whether it be in a team effort or individual effort. Also, I have always wanted to achieve great things in both my personal and professional life. I believe that I have always been great at communicating with others and love to include others in everything that I do to achieve a goal. The biggest strength of mine that surprised me most was Harmony. However, after reading about each strength, I know how I have utilized…

In many cases, people find it difficult to label or categorize their natural talent. Because one is unaware of their natural talents, he or she experiences. During Gallup’s research on identifying talents, they discovered Throughout the course of Clifton’s work on studying talents, they discovered that the majority of people do not have careers that purse their natural talents (Rath, 2007). Out of 10 million people they surveyed, 7 million people were not engaged at work. When these individuals were not able to use their strengths they reported to dread going to work, have more negative than positive interactions with colleagues, treat customers poorly, tell friends what a miserable company they work for, achieve less on a daily basis, and have fewer positive, creative moments in the workplace (2007). To fix these problems, Clifton created a measuring tool in 1999 to categorize and identify talents. First, Clifton wanted to base his research on what is right with people instead of one’s weakness. Based upon previous tests, Clifton started studying work environments and how measuring one’s raw talents could be developed into strengths. He states that a talent is a “naturally recurring patterns of thought, feeling, or behavior that can be productively applied” (Harter, Hodges & Lopez, 2005). Next, he states that strength is an extension of a talent. In other words, if one has the gift of communicating well, then with practice, he can develop his talent for talking into a personal strength such as public speaking.…
