“Flying Wing Paper Model” II. TUJUAN a. Mencari CL dan CDi dari berbagai jenis sayap b. Mencari efek weight terhadap CL dan CDi c. Mengetahui efek head wind dan tail wind terhadap CL dan CDi III. LANDASAN TEORI
3.1 Parameter – parameter 1. Wing reference (or planform) area (SW or Sref or S)
The wing is measured from the centerline to the last rib to get the half-span of the wing. The wing area is calculated by multiplying the half-span by 2 to get the full span and multiplying by the chord to get the area.

The definition of wing area is not obvious and different companies define the areas differently. Here, we always take the reference wing area to be that of the trapezoidal portion of the wing projected into the centerline. The leading and trailing edge chord extensions are not included in this definition and for some airplanes, such as Boeing's Blended Wing Body, the difference can be almost a factor of two between the "real" wing area and the "trap area". Some companies use reference wing areas that include portions of the chord extensions, and in some studies, even tail area is included as part of the reference area. For simplicity, we use the trapezoidal area in this text. | | | Reference Wing Area | Exposed Wing Area | Area Affected by Flaps |
In addition to the reference area, we use the exposed planform area depicted above in the calculation of skin friction drag and the wetted area which is a bit more than twice the exposed planform area.

In order for this equipment to assist one in measuring the speed of sound, the speaker and microphone are positioned inside the hollow tube with the speaker stationary at one end. The microphone is able to be moved and set a chosen distance from the speaker, from almost touching to 1 meter. The signal generator is connected to the speaker by a pair of wires. From this pair of wires, another pair of wires connects the signal generator to the frequency meter. A set of wires also run from the signal generator to the oscilloscope. A separate set of wires is connected from the oscilloscope to the microphone inside the tube. The set up of the equipment allows for the output of the signal meter to be read and measured by the frequency meter while being led to the speaker. This input causes the speaker to vibrate, which produces sound waves inside the tube. These sound waves, picked up by the microphone, are then sent to the oscilloscope as a signal. A pattern is displayed on the screen of the oscilloscope. With the signals in phase, the patterned displayed is a straight diagonal line. With…

The purpose of this paper is to analyze the motion and mechanics of hurdling during the 100 and 110m hurdles in order to better understand the proper technique to clear the barriers. When analyzing hurdling technique it’s important to consider proper body mechanics in order to understand the motion of the skill. While athletic ability is an important factor for this race, proper technique is more important for running a fast race (Coh, 2003). The 110m hurdles for men and the 100m hurdles for women is an Olympic event in track & field, for both races there are 10 hurdles on the track spaced out at an even distance from each other (Iskra, 1995). The athlete…

The areas researched are (1) obtaining a management degree, (2) becoming a licensed pilot, (3) government regulations, (4) aviation finances and (5) aircraft maintenance. The suggested type of degree would be bachelors in airport management and/or professional aerodynamics as well as participation in internships and airport executive professional organizations. A pilot’s license is not only recommended but highly suggested. The manager needs to be very knowledgeable and well versed in the area of government regulations such as the FAA and NSTB. Aviation finances are a special area of focus because of the importance of running a fiscally responsible organization. Finally, aircraft maintenance understanding is the main area that will be detrimental to the success of the aeronautical prevalence.…

Task Description:The world communicates by making extensive use of the electromagnetic spectrum. For the average person this is commonly accessed using radio waves. These radio waves may be over the AM or FM radio wave bands or the radio waves that transmit our television signals. Not only are people always within a ‘phone call of each other anywhere in the world they are also able to find out exactly where in the world they are by use of Global Positioning System (GPS) these now hand held devices have many uses within our society.Your TaskPART ATo produce a report based on your Analysis of information to identify the waves involved in the transfer of energy in television signals and draws a flow diagram that describes the energy transformations in television signals as they are transmitted from the studio to your home. Outline how the modulation of amplitude and frequency of radio waves are used to transmit information.PART BLocate and collect a brochure and at least one scientific article that allow you to assess the accuracy and evaluate the validity of scientific information presented in sales brochures of GPS’s in comparison with similar information presented by the scientific community. Airbus A380 is commonly known as the jumbo aircraft as its capacity is up to 850 persons which weight almost 560 tons. As the maximum length of wingspan which is internationally recognize and can accommodate in most international airport is 80m, so A380 need to gain maximum lift with a length limit of only 80m. In order to overcome this limitation, the engineers observed the wings of eagle for some time and they found out that the end of the wing is folded slightly upwards. Next, they made out a prototype with a winglet on the end of the wing and placed it in a wind tunnel. They found out that the winglets of the wing can reduce the wing tip vortices which act as a drag that reduce the life force. This winglets design successfully overcome the limitation of short wingspan which cannot support such a heavy weight by reducing the drag and increase the lift.…
