Introduction
Admiral Group plc is one of the largest insurance providers in the United Kingdom. It operates throughout seven countries across the world with thirteen different brands and is an extremely profitable financial services intermediary. The Group offer ten different automobile insurance providers across the world and three different aggregator services within Europe. In December
2011, Admiral had currently over 3.4 million vehicles insured across the countries they operate in worldwide, highlighting its extreme success.

Although Admiral is a huge multi-national corporation it still manages to keep its unique culture of a small, organically grown company and has successfully won many awards for being a great employer. This is due to the view the company takes that everyone interested in the success of the company is a stakeholder, including staff and customers (Admiral plc, 2012).

Different themes in relation to Admiral’s structure will be discussed in this essay including its globalisation, technology and culture within the group. It is undoubted that Admiral’s vast and immediate success comes from a sound and well placed hierarchical structure which allows all

employees to work positively and effectively in their functional roles. This essay will highlight the reasons why the Group’s bureaucratic organisational structure has helped it become a leading car insurance company world wide.
