Adam Vinatieri Essay
Thomas Jefferson wrote, “Determine never to be idle . . . It is wonderful how much may be done if we are always doing.” Thomas Jefferson was correct; for example, Adam vinatieri was an undrafted free agent. Who continued to work hard to make it into the NFL. He was then signed by the New England Patriots to be a placekicker. Then in 2005 Adam was signed by the Indianapolis Colts to be their kicker where he has played ever since.
Adam Vinatieri was born in Yankton, South Dakota, he started kicking footballs when he was around ten to eleven years old. Adam lettered in five sports while in high school but he was an All-State selection in football his senior year. Then he went to play for the NFL europe league for a year. He finally joined the New England Patriots in 1996, and went to play in the super bowl but lost to the Green Bay Packers. But his career was just getting started for the Patriots. Adam and the Patriots went to a total of four super bowls winning three. Adam kicked the game winner in two of the super bowls.
Adam vinatieri didn’t resign with the Patriots after the 2005 season was over. Allowing him to become a free agent and decide where he wanted to play. He wanted to play in a dome or warm climate. So when the colts called him it was a perfect spot he was quoted saying “if indy is interest let's get this done.” He signed a five year deal to play for the colts. They went on to play in two super bowls winning one of them.
Thomas jefferson said “determine never to be idle it is wonderful how much may be done if we are always doing.” Adam was a no name college player who got benched halfway through his second season. Started out in the NFL europe league then signed by the Patriots. To go on to play for not one but two NFL teams and making millions of dollars, playing in 6 super bowls and winning 4 of them. That's why he is a perfect example of why you should never give up and to never stay idle, go get stuff

    Once he was finished with high school he earned a scholarship from Southern Mississippi which was the only scholarship offered to him. During his freshman year he started the season as a seventh string quarterback. Favre looked to take over the starting position in the first half of the third game. Although suffering a hangover he led the team to a comeback win. In his third season with the Southern Mississippi Golden Eagles Favre upset the 6th ranked Florida State Seminoles. Brett Favre threw the game winning pass with just 23 seconds left as he put up a six and a half minute drive. Just before Brett Favre’s senior year start he had one of the scariest things happen in his life. Brett Favre lost control of his car going around a turn near his house. His car flipped three times and finally stopped resting on a tree. One of Brett’s brothers busted the window out and was taken to a hospital on an ambulance. On the ride to the hospital Favre just kept asking his mom if he will ever be able to play football again. Favre had to get emergency surgery and the doctors removed thirty inches of his intestines. Favre then hosted a comeback win over the Alabama Rolling Tide. After the game Alabama Head coach Gene Stallings said “You can call it a miracle or a legend or whatever you want.
