Does every high schooler live life similarly around the world? You might think so, but there are vastly different standards of academics and identity in different countries. In the United States, we are often centered around standardized tests, while other countries focus more on lectures, conversation, and essays that demonstrate your knowledge. In America, one could get a scholarship before applying to a college based off a high scoring PSAT. Likewise, Americans gain identity from things separate to academics, there are sports that can get you into college and successful, while many other countries do not have that.
