Abraham Lincoln was assassinated on April 15, 1865 in Washington, D.C. He was assassinated by a famous actor and Confederate sympathizer named John Wilkes Booth. The assassination of Abraham Lincoln shocked the world. The nation had lost one of the greatest leaders. Although all he did was fight for Civil Rights and Freedom.

Abraham Lincoln was a non-violent man, he believed that violence was not the key to get things done. According to Lincoln’s Greatest Journey : Sixteen Days That Changed a Presidency, “Let not him who is houseless pull down the house of another, but let him work diligently and build one for himself, thus by example assuring that his own shall be safe from violence when built.” (Funk 1).
