AQA Memory Game Controlled Assessment
In the AQA Memory Game, a grid of nine five-letter words is displayed to the user. They are arranged in rows and positioned randomly. After 30 seconds, the grid of words shown is replaced by an identical grid with the exception of one new word has been added and one word has been replaced by the original grid. The player needs to correctly guess the word that has been removed and the word that has been replaced, testing the player’s memory.
Tasks
1) After the external file is loaded the user must develop the section of the program that displays the ten five- letter words.

If the word entered is identical to the Removal Word the program will display that you guessed correctly, therefore if they word is dissimilar to the Removal Word the program will show that you guessed incorrectly.
5) If the user guesses the word incorrectly the program will repeat itself three times allowing the user to have three attempts to guess the Removal Word correctly. However, if the user hasn’t guessed the word correctly the game will fail to conclude and an appropriate ‘fail’ message will be displayed.
6)The user must develop the section of the program that allows the user to guess the Substitute Word. If the word entered matches the Substitute Word the program will display a correct message, however, if the word entered is not – identical to the Substitute Word then an incorrect message will be presented on the screen.
7) The program will allow the user to have three attempts to guess the Substitute Word correctly. However, if the user doesn’t guess correctly the Substitute Word during those three attempts, the game will not proceed and a suitable ‘fail’ message will be shown on the
