APA Writing Process Analysis
In nearly all colleges and universities, students will be required to write at least one term paper or essay in their college career. Many of these colleges have a specific way in which they require students to present the information learned. At Bethel University, students are required to use APA formatting when writing papers. I have learned there are four steps in the APA writing process. These steps include beginning with a thesis, giving evidential support to the thesis, connecting the evidence, and composing concise sentences (Read section, Unit 3). Throughout my MBA program, I will use information learned in this process to construct all of my written papers.
When writing a paper one must be able to captivate the reading audience. This

These details can be developed through “an informal outline” (Read section, Unit 3 p. 14). The outline helps the writer organize their thoughts that will consequently make the essay better. In order to grab the attention of the reader, the writer must provide vivid details to support the thesis. In books that I have read, when the author gives specific details it always make for a better reading experience.
Similar to using an outline to organize details, one must be able to connect the specific details. This can be best achieved through, “(1) common methods of organization, (2) transitions, (3) connecting words, (4) strong introduction, and (5) strong conclusion” (Read section, Unit 3 p. 15). When one sees words numerous times in a reading passage, this is done to intentionally remind readers of the main idea.
Following the steps mentioned in this passage will allow any writer the opportunity to produce a quality essay. Incorporating the different techniques such as beginning with a point , supporting that main point with evidence, organizing the specific details through transitional and connecting words, and being clear and concise in the writing will help the reader understand the information

After taking the APA Workbook (Mastering APA Style) Term Paper Familiarization Test I believe that I have identified my strengths and weaknesses. Writing in American Psychological Association format has never been a struggle for me, but that was before I took the test. The test taught me so much editorial information about the APA style that I have never seen or heard before. I’m certain that in the near future I will be much more hesitant in my writing to ensure that I am following the APA rules and guidelines. My test results were 29 out of 40, that’s 73%. In graduate school that’s considered failing, so I’m certainly grateful that our GPA isn’t affected by the test.…

By utilizing four steps, I can effectively write an essay on the topics assigned during this program (Bethel, 2015). The first step is developing a clear point and is followed by supporting ideas. I plan to use quick notes to get my ideas down and make sure I need them. Next I need to organize my ideas to explain how I arrived at my thesis. Finally, I need to proofread my writing to omit any grammar or writing mistakes. These steps can help my writing be more concise and improve over time.…
