I believe that we are born with the traits to become great leaders. Leadership can come in different forms and from all backgrounds. Having all the right conditions in place will not guarantee leadership. I have come across leaders with all the right conditions who failed by performance when given the opportunity. I have also come across the uneducated with no support system who becomes business owners and community leaders. First, leadership is a group phenomenon; there can be no leaders without followers. Leadership always involves interpersonal influence or persuasion. Second,…

Leaders are individuals who impact other people and show them the way ahead, all leaders have particular features which illustrate the power factors in a person and make other individuals adhere to their direction. Leaders have the ability to turn a company from making large losses to making large profits. It is not rocket science and it does not require an extreme individual to do this, all it needs is the right mind-set and the perfect social abilities in an individual to touch and impact other people (Ronald, E R 2011). All organizations are made up of people and not devices so to impact a person you do not have to be a machine, you have to have people who can earn respect and impact other individuals by showing himself at the front side of others and getting power by performance. Are leaders born or made? The research on this particular question has been done and it seems to be that ‘48% of the variance in transactional leadership may be explained by additive…

Dr. Covey states that neither leaders or managers are born, this is a statement which I completely agree with. Leaders and managers are made, behavioral theories believe that people go through the process of teaching, learning, and observation, and that it is through this process that leaders, as well as managers are made (Hyacinth, 2014). I believe that as one goes through life, one begins to learn and observe the behaviors of others, it is through certain life experiences that help in the making of a leader or manager.…

Some people are natural born leaders, nature plays a role. Some people work all their life to become great leaders, nurture plays a role. They both have many things in common but the most important one is that they want to be in charge; become leaders and not followers. They all have a vision and need to have a strong belief in their leadership ability. In addition, leaders set goals that help them achieve their vision. I believe that in order to be a great leader you first have to be a great follower. Being a follower before will make it easier for a leader to empathize with their followers. Learning how to motivate people is a great leadership tool. They know they need other people to get the job accomplished. The leader is not always the most analytical person in the room, but he knows how to use other people’s strengths to get the job accomplished. A great leader has great people to people relations skills and knows how to work a room. People want to follow and work for a great leader. This means a leader has to have charisma, character, personality and be unbiased. People look up to this person and wants to be like them. What make these leaders effective is not a natural ability; it is their desire to lead people, combined with a set of learned skills that they apply as leaders. The only real ingredient in the leadership recipe that they possessed when they began leading was desire and integrity. They learned the rest of it as they go. The desire to lead was the motivational ingredient that drove them to lead; the skills they learned along the way are what allowed them to lead people. Are leaders born or made? Individual…

Are good leaders made or born? The question has remained unanswered since centuries. A leader is one who can get it done through his followers any and every impossible task possible. Although there is a huge gap between a leader and a Boss. A boss is one who has the authority to get work done through his subordinates, and the leader is one who influences his team to work for him. Leadership differs in that it makes the followers want to achieve high goals rather than simply bossing people around.…

Born Leaders can be define as qualities are still with them when they do get involved in areas that they want to devote their time. According to William G. (March, 2012), “Born leader are likely to think that organizations should be very selective in who gets developmental opportunities, offering them only to those the leaders believe are most likely to benefit from them”. However, made leaders are what they learn, grow develop into great leaders through the people they associate with and most important are from their experience. Leadership, there has always been a long lasted debate whether Leaders are born or are they made and, there have been examples of both circumstances. I believe that every human being is a born leader, but it is the circumstances and opportunities which would make him exhibit the leader in him. I would also go with the words of John Quincy Adams, “If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader”. So, according to me, leadership mainly starts with inspiring the people around us.…
