Character is built on the fundamentals of adversity. Through those experiences will result in a change in perspective. As for me, the lack of family involvement influenced my stoic nature. At some point, I would question my own value. When I feel frustrated, ecstatic, or upset I would have no one to express these emotions towards. Under these circumstances, I transpire to keep to myself and came to accept it as one of my qualities. Instead of saying what is on my mind, I’m prone to stay quiet and welcome whatever comes my way. Due to this mentality, I was branded as a “pushover”. My creativity in art replaced my inability to speak up and fend for myself. Drawing became an escape for my emotions and to empty out my mind when anxiety fill it.
Morality became a significant portion of my beliefs and how they play a role in how I behave as an individual. I want to be someone of power that can build public trust and as well care for people that suffer from these injustices. The field of forensics nursing interests me most because it is practically a bridge that connect both the medical and criminal justice world. A forensics nurse tend to be compassionate, emotionally stable, a critical thinker, and detail oriented. The following characteristics are important in order to support their patients and give understanding to various people that have faced different circumstances. In which, I intend to improve on to change so that I will have the ability to recognize and acknowledge what other people goes through and what they have to offer. My interests and beliefs integrate to form one personal ambition that I desire to achieve. Through the characteristics I have and what I strive to refine, I’ve developed a goal that I sought to obtain. At the same time, my identity expand into an individual that grow strong conviction towards what is wrong versus what is right.
