A Career As A Desk Assistant
1. Throughout my college career I worked on various group projects, in which I took on a leadership role and was able to effectively solve group issues and delegate tasks to group members while completing my own work. Additionally, I worked as a Desk Assistant while in college. As a Desk Assistant I was responsible for sorting and distributing room keys and mail to students, acting as a receptionist, answering student questions, ensuring the safety of the dorm by monitoring cameras and ensuring all doors were locked within the building. In addition, I assisted during emergency procedures, was responsible for calling Campus Safety if there was a threat within the dorm. I performed these tasks simultaneously, and I was constantly faced with new issues that needed to be addressed and solved.

Throughout my college career I utilized my analytic, and critical thinking skills quite often. I designed, and completed a research project analyzing the portrayal of human trafficking victims in films and documentaries. I created my own coding for the qualitative data that I analyzed, and presented it at the University of Dayton's Stander Symposium. While in Graduated School, I have also completed various research projects and papers, which caused me to use my analytical and critical thinking skills. I researched sex offender laws, gangs, drug offenders, weapons carrying techniques, and the role policy plays within the criminal justice system. I also completed a criminal justice statistic course that utilized SPSS. Lastly, I completed a comprehensive exam that required me to analyze a criminal justice program. I analyzed the program to examine its implementation and effectiveness. I utilized my knowledge of social research method techniques, criminological theory, statistical analysis, and policy analysis to determine the effectiveness of the program and made recommendations on how to improve the
