7 Habits Book Report
This is a book dedicated by Sean Covey to the youngsters, helping them to improve self-development. This book has surprisingly caught my attention because the 7 habits stated in this book are really small matters in our lives, but we often tend to ignore them. The author also gave different real life examples to demonstrate how we could apply these habits in our daily lives. Before elaborating the habits, the writer started on “Get in The Habit”, which helped the readers in reading the chapters accordingly. Habits 1, 2, and 3 are the “private victory”, whereas habits 4, 5, and 6 are called the “public victory.” Lastly, habit 7 is the habit of renewal. The three habits that inspired me the most are Habit 1: Think Proactive, Habit 4: Think Win-Win, and Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood. I’ve learned that being principle-centered is the most “carefree” life. For example, one day even if my friends bad-mouthed behind me, I wouldn’t be downhearted because I knew that they are not the center of my life. My principles are. On the contrary, if I place other aspects before my principles, such as material that will deteriorate, I’m gonna be disappointed and unsatisfied. As long as I insist on the right principles, although others might think of us as peculiar, it doesn’t matter because principles never change. When I was in secondary school I frequently played truant with my friends. Of course my SPM grades were barely satisfying. Well now that I think back I can’t blame anyone, because I couldn’t stand firm on principles and I decided to compromise my principles.
Now let’s start on Habit 1: Be Proactive. Being proactive is to take control of our lives, not letting others. We have the freedom to choose whether to be proactive or

    This chapter outlines four main habits that can help ease and remove the stress out of the environment. The first habit that is mentioned is that you should “Clear your desk of all paper except those related to the immediate problem at hand”, this is eliminating any distractions from the worker as they will not be bothered with unnecessary items such as papers. The second habit that should be implemented is to “Do things in the order of their importance. What Carnegie is saying here is that one has to prioritize the jobs or the tasks that need to be completed.
