3pt Average

I can’t wait for Basketball season to start. I knew I would do good in this league. The season has started and I have a 100% 3pt average so I can pretty much shoot anywhere on the court and make it. I got put on a team and now I am ready the best person my team because like I said earlier I have a 100% 3pt average and my teammates barely have an 80% layup average. One thing that is amazing to me is that I score at least 40 points a game because I shoot about 10 3 pointers a game and 5 normal shots that are worth 2 points. If there is a team that can keep up with my team and there are only like 2 seconds left and we are down by 2 I can shoot a long shot and win off a buzzer beater 3. This season was amazing and I can’t wait for

Klay Thompson is about 6’7 and can shoot the blood out of a ball, If he gets hot he will not miss from anywhere on the court. Klay averages about 22.1 points in the season, and some games he will put about 40 along with his splash brother Steph Curry. Klay Thompson could take over a game in a second if he wanted to and he has. Klay and the Golden State Warriors were down in a game against the Oklahoma City Thunder and the camera went to him and a light bulb came on in his head, he lifted his head up , took his forearms off of his thighs and went back on the court in a serene way. They got a turnover and he sprinted down the court and pulled up behind the three point line and it hit the back of the rim and fell through the net. That shot had to start something new, every time he came down court he could catch and shoot, could bring the ball down and pull up, either way it was going in and they ended up winning the game. That was not the only game he’s done that , he has multiple games where he was 70% or higher from the three point line. As said earlier Steph and Klay are the dynamic duo. Steph is the best jump shooter in the league right now and he puts up 40 plus points in games. Steph has the record for most three point shots made in a season right now, he can come down court and pull up at the most unexpected moments and that is one of the big reasons he got the MVP award last year. Steph made 402 three pointers in his last season for the record of most three’s in a season. Kobe Bryant is a hall of famer now and a former shooting guard for the Lakers. Kobe had a lot of games where he couldn't miss and he was just unstoppable in every way. His most memorable game was his 81 point game. The Lakers were down by as many as 18 points in the third quarter and Kobe just lost all patience. He put up 51 points after the Trail…

Michael Jordan, a basketball superstar, once said: “I can accept failure, everyone fails at something. But I can’t accept not trying.” We all are destined for something great. There are people destined to be an Olympian. There are people who are destined to win an Oscar or to star in blockbuster movies. But there are people whose steps lead to the making of basketball legends.…

Growing up with a dad who was All-State for Basketball, and a Grandfather who played Division I basketball; I was always expected to be good at ball. I was always decent but never quite lived to expectations. When I turned 12 years old, I was diagnosed with Type 3 scoliosis, which limited not only my quickness but my ability to twist and run normally. The basketball dynasty was coming to an end as I had lost a lot of athleticism. I was always on the middle team, not very good, not very bad, but I always tried new moves; which made me hard to guard. I finally quit all sports because my back couldn’t handle the stress, and I wasn’t prepared to go into surgery. One day as I was watching…

Numbers don’t define us. They don’t make or break us or determine our self-worth. Although I now know this, I look back on my younger years and realize that I might have placed too much emphasis on my grades and the value they gave me as a person. I remember a time when I would cry if I received a low grade on a test or an assignment. While I still do believe that grades are important I sometimes wish that I would have realized that as long as I tried my best, I still succeeded.…

When I walked into the store I headed right to the sports section and picked up NBA 2K16, I had been waiting to get this game for weeks, I was hype! Once we concluded our terrible shopping trip I was finally home, and the first thing I did was run up to my room and put 2K into my Xbox One. Once I opened the case however, I felt a strong force pull me down, like a seatbelt in a car. When I opened my eyes I was standing face to face with NBA superstar Kevin Durant, my favorite NBA player, he dominated the NBA with his ability to score with amazing ease. “Don’t just stand there man, shoot it!” Kevin exclaimed to me as he passed me the ball. I threw up an easy corner jump shot and it went in with a nice sound as the ball glazed through the net. “Ok I see you” Kevin said to me as I got my rebound and passed him the rock. He went back towards the half court line with the ball and started sprinting towards the rim, I opened my mouth in awe and I watched him soar into the air and 360 dunk! “Not bad, didn’t mean to dunk it so hard though” KD said as my eyes were as big as golf balls in straight amazement. We ended up playing a game of 21, which he obviously kicked my butt in, but I had a great…

First of all, playing sports is one of my favorite things to do. They teach me discipline and I must do and Not do what coach says. Sports also teach me good sportsmanship. I learn to love the game by playing my opponent/friends and showing how to take a win or loss. Last year playing basketball we didn’t lose but one game, I was devastated. I like to think I took the Loss ok but I just blamed it all on myself. I got to show my winning spirts in a ton of games that season, and I think I showed my happiness well. Our team didn’t brag or show off we simply just played our game, and the results turned out as they may.…

My summer was an inch away from being perfect. I had a good GPA and people to hangout with, but I was missing one thing: starting on the basketball team. Basketball was going great beside that one problem, but I just could not remove the obsession of starting from my mind. Basketball and happiness go hand in hand for me. Over the next month basketball and my attitude started spiraling downwards and brought my happiness and friendships with them. Fear and compassion are two very different feelings that equally drive individuals. Many assume that fear and compassion have absolutely no relationship due to the fact that they are polar opposite emotions that people usually do not associate with each other. Even though they are two very different emotions, fear can be used to express one’s inner compassion. Fear and compassion are two of the most prevalent emotions used in regular human interaction, but unlike compassion, fear is obviously dreaded in society due to the fact that humans in general do like to face and deal with adverse conditions. Leslie Bell, in Hard to Get: Twenty-Something Women and the Paradox of Sexual Freedom, talks about women in early their twenties facing fear about their identities. Robert Thurman’s “Wisdom” speaks about how his experience of becoming a monk taught him to release his inner “self”. And Charles Siebert speaks about the relationship between humans and elephants in the “Elephant Crackup”. Through all of these stories it is clear and apparent that deep and intense fear drives and motivates individuals to become much more compassionate and understanding.…

I can always tell myself stop being nervous and play ball it’s all on you and about what you can do while on the court. The coach always told us, “Don’t take your behind on that court and don’t know what to do, or You going to be sitting on that bench with me”. And she wasn’t playing you think it will be funny. But not being in the game is not cool. Not at all. When I’m on the court playing ball sometimes you have to take your time to be able to “Do better to be able to Get better.”…

Ever since I could walk, basketball was my life. I played it all year round and enjoyed every second. I played on an elite, national AAU basketball team and received a couple collegiate offers. So finally when it came time for varsity basketball, I was ready to play at that next level. When tryouts rolled around, it was all I could think of. Basketball consumed my thoughts. On the last day of tryouts, when I got called into a little white room for a one-on-one talk with my new head coach, all I could think about is what position I will be playing throughout the season. But when my basketball coach said, “You didn’t make this year’s girls basketball team,” I was in disbelief. He later stung me with the statement, “I thought you would be crying more,” which is when my emotions and thoughts changed. At first, my friends and family supported me as I faced a setback in my life. But then, as time went on, society went back to their daily routine, unaware of the thoughts going through my head. This experience changed me and how I look at every situation. It inspired me to think differently when adversity hits. Eventually, I tried new things like indoor lacrosse, skiing, became an officer in DECA, and continued to play AAU and intramural basketball. I trusted my Christian faith and realized He does have a plan and purpose for every individual. From November 19, 2012, I had two choices: to move on or dwell on the situation. I choose to change my thoughts and my perspective and plan for the future.…

On the 20th of October, 1998, the world was blessed with a talented basketball player. (That would be me.) Growing up, I didn’t really have reasons to like basketball. My family did not play or have interest in any kind of sport, besides for my father turning on the Lakers game once in a while. So my influence had to come about from a mishap. A mishap I am very thankful for. The television was playing the Lakers game in my living room one night when my attention was caught by an astonishing performance by a player wearing the number 8. Shot after shot he would score with emphasis, scowling after each basket. This player was arguably one of the greatest professional basketball players still to this day, Kobe Bryant. It was at this moment that…
