The lion represents royalty, majesty, power, strength, bravery, courage, and ferocity. The rulers included so many of them because they represent three areas England, Norway, and Aquitaine which were associated with the British crown.
What does the fleur-de-lis represent? Why is it featured on the Coat of Arms of British rulers?
The fleur-de-lis represents France. It is featured on the Coat of arms of British rulers because the British had an alliance with the French, so they had the fleur-de-lis on their coat of arms.

The Coat of Arms includes two phrases, “Blessed are the peacemakers” and “Shame to him who evil thinks.” Choose one of these phrases and explain why a ruler might want it included in a coat of arms.
I think that the main reason why “Blessed are the peacemakers” is because he is trying to say that the safety of his kingdom is very important to him and peace is the number one issue.
Research one of the colors featured in the Coat of Arms. Based on what the color represents, explain why it would be used in a royal coat of arms.
I chose to research the color gold. I found out gold represents generosity and elevation of the mind. I think this color is used in Coat of arms because every ruler needs to be generous and they also need a elevated mind.

Additionally, South goes on to discuss the unicorn’s role in the Garden of Eden, describing how the unicorn and its mate refused to enter the ark. “Some accounts say that the unicorn drowned in the Flood, but others say that he survived by swimming until the waters went down” (South 1987:18). South’s tale is unique because it acts as a reasonable explanation for many people as to why unicorns are not present in the world anymore: they were wiped out by the flood. The religious symbolism of the unicorn did not only impact works of literature. “Late medieval and Renaissance pictures of a virgin holding a slain unicorn on her lap resemble those of pieta- depictions of Mary holding the dead Christ” (Sax 2013:9). Given this information, it is evident…

Heraldry, which originated in Europe during the 12th century, is a system of signs and symbols. The original purpose of heraldry was to allow knights to recognize one another on the battlefield. In earlier years, when a battle occurred, knights could not easily distinguish who their enemies were. In order to solve this problem, knights began decorating their shields with different colors, metals, furs, and symbols to identify themselves. There are many rules in heraldry. A few of the more basic rules include, never placing a metal on a metal, never placing a colour on a colour, always placing a metal on a colour or vice versa, and using furs in place of a metal or a colour.…

For my coat of arms project I used four symbols that I think represent me. In the top left hand corner I drew piano keys; these keys represent me because I’ve been learning to play the piano and it’s something I’ve really enjoyed learning to do. When I play the piano I forget all my worries and pain, the music takes me somewhere and I’m allowed to be myself. In the top middle I drew the Salt Lake City Utah LDS Temple; I choose this beautiful building to represent my family in my coat of arms. The reason why I chose this is because my family and I believe that because my parents were married in a LDS temple that our family can be together forever, even after death. In the upper right hand corner I drew a ukulele because for about a year now…
